  2. Yeah for record highs in the winter at least, the classic way to do that around here is a Great Lakes Cutter tracking north and west of here. rainy/wet snow/slop mix coastals without cold air are more of a warm overnight low type of deal, and those are what I expect. December 2015 was the weird one because we actually did get lows going well NW despite being a super El Niño.
  3. Yeah it's weird. Always seems to happen around this time of year too.
  4. The storm after the storm. Thats the one to watch
  5. El ninos are usually even more overcast than usual in our already overcast winter climate. That automatically keeps lows up. Though I still expect a subzero night or two.
  6. 60/39 The house is a little chilly all the sudden, ha. Crazy how it can go from stuffy the other day to wearing a hoodie inside.
  7. Turned it off here this morning. Hopefully for the last time this season but you never know.
  8. I can't find a match to this, though. 1997 is closest....
  9. I can't find an analog that has forcing as expansive throughout the tropical Pacific during the month of December as this year is forecast.....1983 looks like a good match for January, as it begins to erode a bit on the eastern flank...the image below is reflective of VP on the color scheme, with the contour representing preci rate to really hone in on the best forcing.
  10. CC is a nutshell...yes, the days are obviously warming, but it's more pronounced at night.

  12. The rapid onset of drought here in middle is concerning. Especially going into October. Drought with the leaves falling is a bad recipe. This year has been the year of extremes so far. Good grief. The climate is sure changing or Mother Nature is just po’d at humanity. I am over this endless summer. Give me long sleeves & sweatshirts! PLEASE!
  13. There's not a station in CT above 68* and your at 74*. Even newark is only 70*

  15. Hey Steve @Voyager hope you find a good medical answer for your issues. I know quite a few with it and they manage just dine so there is hope.
  16. Drying trend as we get closer…..we’ve never seen that before.
  17. Monday and Wednesday look dry to me. GFS has some rain for Tuesday, but is mainly dry for all the other days during the week. I'm still not convinced that we're gonna see much rain next week -- it could be a cloudy cool week with only a little rain. But we'll see. It's very questionable.

  19. What a season! It's September 19 and a new weak tropical depression near the Azores is getting all the hype.
