I've not seen us get snow this far south with a clipper that far north that I remember. But its sort of a case of perfect timing here where it comes in after a fairly cold airmass is on its way out so you get overrunning snows. It shows you how snow is often more luck than anything else and how in -PNA patterns it is easier for us to get lucky than +PNA ones where its more often boom or bust nowadays.

RRFS is ridiculously south. Probably can toss that. I have not looked at it much past 48 but it seems less wacky and ugly overall than the NAM does beyond that period most of the time so I guess good news there as far as improvement with the new model

yep fully aware. I am the Township manager for Lowhill Township. Down and dead ash trees the last year I have been an absolute nightmare for my public works dept. Just as much of nightmare is the traffic signal timing that you have to deal with on Rt 100 for your water deliveries. Working on that too.

The NAM appears to have NAM'd. ICON/RGEM are about what I'd expect. I think the Euro is a tad too far south with this right now.

0.4" of snow from the clipper. Now this morning winds are kicking up into the 30's blowing snow around. Temps were in the mid 20's and in just a half hour dropped to mid teens. Cold day on tap.

I loved the 3 week cold stretch! I’m still enjoying the cool/dry of yesterday and this weekend. Great for walking! Was down to mid 30s this AM. The impressive torch is progged to be most concentrated during 12/23-8 (and much of that period will still be pleasant with pretty low dewpoints) and with any later torchy days up in the air since good model skill doesn’t go out that far. Despite the warmup Charlotte will still likely end up NN for Dec. ATL likely slightly AN. RDU/GSO likely slightly BN.
