  2. That storm broke summers back in Portland. 75F to 55 in minutes with a 69mph gust. Got a pretty good video looking out toward the jetport of that dowburst.

  4. My latest favorite weather app is EverythingWeather, which pulls all data directly from NWS (since they don't have an app). It even pulls space weather from SWPC.
  5. It was the snowiest in over a decade in NYC ( over 40 inches )
  6. Nice analysis. Zeke Hausfather had a blog recently on how the 1930s warmth gets overestimated. Here's one of his plots. US stations were concentrated in the Great Plains in the 1930s, exactly where the warmth of the 1930s was focused. That is why it is important to grid the station data as you did. https://www.theclimatebrink.com/p/raw-data-wrong-answers
  7. @CoastalWx : "What?, I HAZ snowed in August???!!!"
  8. This. Next winter might actually be a 0" for one of the nyc weather stations.
  9. While the major 100° heat has been mostly focused in late June and July in recent years, September and October have been warming at a faster rate than the summer. NY Coastal Climate Division 1981-2025 Jun….+0.4 per decade Jul….+0.8 per decade Aug…+0.6 per decade Sep….+1.0 per decade Oct…..+1.0 per decade

  11. Was planning on hanging around Joshua Tree National Park a couple hours after sunset a couple nights ago, but had to get to Vegas by midnight to return the rental car. Did see the sunset from Keys View overlooking the Coachella Valley which was cool. Then stopped on the side of the road in the middle of the Mohave Desert so my son could pee. Stars were amazing and did see a bright meteor in those couple minutes.
  12. 2026 - the year CT gets soaked and focused HVN-Hamden SVR! "Why can't that ever happen around Weymouth!?"
  13. You think ORH has a sub 10" seasonal total in the next 20 years?
  14. WDI hasn't worked for awhile, man...used to be 3-4 years for a foot, 6-7 years for 2 feet...this is the longest stretch without a SECS in my brief lifetime. But not getting any out of two niños (23-24 & the upcoming one) would be an unusual level of futility, though. Let's hope this one delivers.
  15. Today
  16. 95/74 is not our climo on August 13th Would’ve been a good chase trip but the logistics are a mess and I’m thinking the center passes south of the big island as a strong TS, not hurricane. I try to stay away from Island Roulette.
  17. Meteorological summer is June, July and August while the hottest part of summer average wise is approximately June 10th to September 10th
  18. Here we go again with the model wars. The 12z GFS has the 9 day here at 100ºF, while both the Euro and CMC have us at 72ºF. Both the Euro and CMC have deep troughs over the east at 500 mb, while the GFS has nothing.
  19. Same for Detroit. 3rd coldest for that period, behind those same 2 years. Thats also the coldest time of the year on record climatologically, so extra impressive. 8.7F – 1895 10.1F – 1936 12.3F – 2026 12.6F – 1899 12.9F – 1918
  20. Looks like my work cube over by riverside golf course is inline. Will find out soon. Sent from my SM-S921U using Tapatalk
