July 2025 Obs/Disco ... possible historic month for heat
Typhoon Tip replied to Typhoon Tip's topic in New England
You said “wimpy” and used meso region that comparatively did not represent the situation fairly. I responded to a clear tactic to diminish the extent of the reality - why this taking place from you and Indeedsnow is a cred denter. Aside from frankly coming off as dishonest and ‘gaslighty’ … you should probably drop it while the numbers are clear -

Did Greenfield have fireworks on the 4th and 5th? No towns around me were doing them either night but I heard distant ones from the west. I doubt I would be able to hear them from Greenfield. -

I know a lot of SNE had some good rain this week, but I have to admit, lawns are starting to look a little crispy in Franklin Co. -

We hit 91° today. Might’ve been able to peek higher, but there was a lot of cloud debris off and on. The river was nice today but still 68°. I can’t wait to get down to Falmouth later in the week. -

Southern-ish New Hampshire is a sneaky hot spot in the summer. -

Is it in one of those metal sheds in the middle of a parking lot? Maybe that's why you hit 99° -

You do know Junorch was right? Do you think that month was hot? -
I hadn't posted this, but meant to relating to the trend issue. Top pic is the Euro seasonal June temp forecast for OND and the bottom is July's forecast for same period. I know 2 months aren't a trend, but again, it's moving toward the Cansip with a non-furnace Canada into the Conus. Plus, AN areas aren't going wild.

So dang sad..I've been out of pocket until I heard about it in church this morning. Absolutely devastating. Especially with the timing of the flash flood. -
I don’t see a color/amounts guide, but this clearly shows where the heaviest has already fallen. I read that some areas have already gotten 8-10”!

Made it to 94 here. Still 88/74. I do like these evenings with a balmy breeze and no hint of a chill in the air. True summer. -
Occasional Thoughts on Climate Change
Typhoon Tip replied to donsutherland1's topic in Climate Change
It really is quite simple… Denial happens because it’s enabled That’s it. Nothing else… Now, if we want to get into what’s the enabling, that’s a fascinating effect of the human social condition functioning in a state of multigenerational abundance of choice and technological advantage These provide recourse, whereas the morality of survival and virtuosity of learning are both being dimmed by the state of resource provision making populations less proactive -frankly making the bulk density of humanity, dumber and dumber Amongst many other feedbacks, it’s definitely going to block people from seeing the damage that can be caused by an abstraction like an invisible slow moving apocalypse -

Beautiful July evening walking the dog through the fields. Still plenty of light to go at 7:45pm. Just realized how late it is, dinner is going to be like 9pm at this rate. -
That sharp westward jog has lead to us only netting a pedestrian 0.60" here in Wilson.
-
Yea the stall is occurring during peak heating which is fucking Durham and areas west right now
-
Great. So what is "juice"?
-
Rain rates have been really intense near and over Chapel Hill for a few hours now, probably the next area to see significant flooding.

sorry I just want to talk meteorology. Your name is CAPE, so I assume you're knowledgeable.
