I was arguing that it should have been more latitudnal all along; when mid level temps are the main determinant, proximity to the ocean should be of secondary consideration.

Get ready to spike the snw football, KLWM.

Yeah these are always latitudinal. The classic wnw-ese 0C 850 line his a huge hint for that.

AWT

WE HAVE UPGRADED PORTIONS OF EASTERN CT...NORTHWEST RI AND PORTIONS

OF EAST CENTRAL MA TO WINTER STORM WARNINGS. THE BOUNDARY LAYER IS

JUST SO COLD AND WITH THE SURFACE LOW PRESSURE EXPECTED TO PASS NEAR

NANTUCKET/OUTER-CAPE ITS GOING TO BE AWFULLY TOUGH TO GET

TEMPERATURES ABOVE FREEZING MUCH TO THE NORTHWEST OF 128.

THEREFORE...RAPIDLY ADVANCING MID LEVEL WARM AIR SHOULD CHANGE MOST

PLACES TO SLEET/FREEZING RAIN UP TO THE MA TURNPIKE BY NOON. THE

COAST SHOULD EVENTUALLY CHANGE TO RAIN DURING THE AFTERNOON AS

ENOUGH OF A MARINE LAYER WORKS INTO THE REGION. HOWEVER...NORTHWEST

OF 128 WHERE TEMPERATURES WILL PROBABLY REMAIN BELOW FREEZING THE

MAIN PRECIPITATION TYPE THIS AFTERNOON WILL BE FREEZING RAIN. ONE

QUARTER TO ONE HALF INCH OF ICE ACCRETION IS EXPECTED ACROSS THE

REGION. THIS MAY RESULT IN LARGE TREE LIMBS COMING DOWN ALONG WITH

SCATTERED POWER OUTAGES. THIS WAS THE REASON WE UPGRADED TO A

WINTER STORM WARNING.

You're about to get dryslotted though. In fact, I think we all are based on the regional radar. lol

Just some very light fr drizzle now, radar has dried up pretty quickly across western ct. Easy to see where the firehose is pointed.........extreme eastern new england is going to receive some impressive qpf amounts.

Net gain here, ice ice baby.

Teflon for the win.

temperatures are nosing up SE of here pretty quickly (im in Storrs right now, not Torrington). Hoping that doesn't make it here too soon or it'll just be plain old rain. At home in the NW Corner however, it looks like they might have some problems. big problems

Things look to be shaping up to where we will know where the biggest issues may occur...looks like portions of eastern CT may be spared but the rest of the state may not be so lucky, NW part could have some big issues, I agree.
