COLD TEMPS ALOFT COMBINED WITH THE STILL

WARM WATERS OF LAKE ONTARIO WILL SET THE STAGE FOR RENEWED LAKE

EFFECT ACTIVITY DOWNWIND OF LAKE ONTARIO BY SAT AFTERNOON.

FORECAST BUFR SOUNDINGS FROM SYR SUGGEST HIGH AMOUNTS ON

INSTABILITY (LAKE INDUCED CAPES NEAR 400 J/KG) ALONG WITH

INVERSION HEIGHTS NEAR 13 KFT. THAT SAID...AM BEGINNING TO BECOME

CONCERNED FOR POSSIBLE INTENSE LAKE EFFECT ACTIVITY AS EARLY AS

SAT AFTERNOON ACROSS THE SYR METRO AND ADJACENT LOCATIONS.

Nothing but VERY light snow here. 1.2" total so far.

Beginning to see a band/bandlet setting up across N'rn Fulton County-S'rn Hamilton County then ESE to N'rn Schenctady county & S'rn Saratoga County...snowfall rates of 3/4-1 per hour in this band....another band western parts of Green, Schoharie and Ulster county...

Env Canada radar showing the narrow trough line setting up nicely now, after congealing directly over the ottawa region....appears to be about 30-35 miles wide and as the area narrows, heavier echoes are beginning to pop up within it.

i cant post an image here for some reason which is annoying.

probably just steady light to occasionally moderate snow possible, but stil interesting to see how it evolved on radar.

should sit with slight counterclockwise rotation as the ULL swings SE.... for the foreseaable future, rotting slowly.

SNOW WILL CONTINUE TO AFFECT EAST CENTRAL NEW YORK AND ADJACENT

WESTERN NEW ENGLAND THROUGH 3 PM. SNOW WILL BE MODERATE TO HEAVY

AT TIMES...REDUCING VISIBILITIES TO LESS THAN ONE MILE. SNOWFALL

RATES COULD EXCEED 1 INCH PER HOUR IN AREAS OF HEAVY SNOW. THIS

WILL CAUSE DANGEROUS DRIVING CONDITIONS. ADDITIONAL SNOWFALL

AMOUNTS THROUGH 3 PM WILL RANGE FROM HALF AN INCH TO TWO

INCHES...WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS UP TO FOUR INCHES POSSIBLE

Looks like it's been snowing pretty good at home all morning. Here at work near Utica, maybe an inch so far.

What a difference in 15 miles.

I could have told you that this morning when you first said it. You're too low.

Andy what do you make of the snow hole over eastern albany county? according to the nam we get shadowed for a good portion of the day before that band moves in. hopefully were still looking at advisory level snows.
