Up to .62" now and it is much appreciated.  We aren't as dry as last year but still need rain.  Growing season is done here with 28° last week so this should be able to soak in pretty good.

Sure…we’re stepping down. I get it. But an early CAA freeze with a period of warmth following is just a bit of a bummer for me with my late ripening stragglers. If I can steal another week of ripening time by having a 33° min versus a breezy 28° I’ll take the 33°. There’s plenty of winter and cold to come.

Reminder to everyone…I don’t control the weather despite what I wish for.

Completely see your idea…and I agree 100%.

Looks like a two day cold shot this weekend and then we warm up for days and days. Just enough of a tease for people to post pics of snowliage and snow guns blowing mice out, only to be replaced with shorts and flip flops early next week.

60s are flip flop weather?

Oh great ... instead of early season snow chance(s), the last half of the month is way better with higher chances for 59 F mist instead

Putrid and rancid ass mist?

There as actually a presentation similar to this at the Tri-State Weather conference this past Saturday.

it's probably underdone.

these types of science -based studies result in estimates.  Sophisticated as they may be compared to say ... oh, Kevin-types and their brilliant objective-based illustrations of what is going to happen to trees and building and stuff... , they are still based upon more linearly algebraic resolutions using available/reanalaytic metrical inputs.

what they don't don't include are the synergistic products of complex higher order energetic systems.   one question that immediately leaps to mind for me is that is the 'domino effect' thereof.   You get to a certain pervasive failure quotient and the weight just topples everything.  We actually observed something similar to this during the 2008 ice storm up there in N Worcester and Middlesex Co.  The margin towns that did record any icing, or if so... limited amounts, lost power by load balancing when substations reel - often times safety measures built in cut regional grids... This is particularly true in tangled mess of major events where regions are a labyrinth partially mixed with total and non disrupted mess.  Everyone goes down in that region...

I'm sure their science takes that into account, but when events get in that GOAT range ...there's almost always unexpected emergent properties.
