Funny thing is, while humidity will be lower, there's likely a better shot at 100s with this round compared to the last one, with the peak currently projected to be Tuesday/Wednesday. Duration is a lot more questionable though (especially with NE extent).

They upped the temps the next few days from around 90 to mid 90's here in town. SW winds will bring hot air, along with some down sloping effect from the ridges. We'll see how this pans, but it'll be nasty without A/C.

Around 80 on the shoreline to upper 80's inland today. Dews upper 60's to low 70's. Mid 80's imby. Tomorrow starts the really hot stuff. We'll see how much.

The warmest 850 temps are actually north of Chicago at the beginning of the week. I think this has potential to see some actual temperatures that are the highest we’ve seen in years for Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota. The funny part is there probably won’t be the media hype that we saw leading into the 4th of July since the dewpoints will be much lower leading to a lower heat index which leads to probably nothing worse than heat advisories. 
 Of course everyone on this board knows that you need the lower dewpoints if you want higher actual temperatures.

Yeah this is looking like a potentially very significant heatwave for the northern areas of the subforum. Temps look like they will max out in the upper 90s or even the rare 100s. There has been like 5-6 heatwaves that have led to 100s that far N, and unlike those ones it won't be that hot here as well. Paradoxically, you will have to go south to cool off early next week. This heatwave also coincides with the peak tourist season up N, which could compound heat effects as people are in cabins or campers that are not equipped to handle a couple of days in the upper 90s-100s with 70 degree lows in between.

For as inexpensive as a small window ac unit is, I would have one available to use even if i only needed for a handful of days a year just because I hate sleeping in a hot room. It’s not like I have to use my ac all summer here either but for those really warm nights, I would be miserable the next day if I didn’t have it. It seems like the older i get, the less  tolerant I am of hot or cold. lol.

Yeah, I get it. I keep the windows closed during the day, open at night. It's not terrible. If I can't stand this, this year, then that will happen. At some point tough isn't enough. Will use wet towels with a fan blowing, if I really need too. After this tho, 70 will be frosty LOL

Just visualize the massive snow drifts that will be back in 4-5 months.  That should help a bit.

Point up to 98 tomorrow, 92 today and 94 Tuesday. Three days of 90's with 70's at night is gonna be hard.  House is 66 degrees this morning with all the windows/blinds closed.  Thankfully it's well insulated, and I have plenty of shade later in the day.  More concerned for my chickens and rabbits than I am myself.  Gave the garden a good soaking this morning and put a shade tarp over it to mitigate some of the heat stress.

Its probably a good idea to invest in a window air conditioner. They aren't that expensive and even on days when it just hits 80 you can turn it on for a bit.

I rarely ran my AC the last 3 weeks of June. I had it set to 80 when I was in Alaska and then when I got home I turned it off the next 2 weeks. Turned it back on ahead of the June 30-July 3 heatwave and havent had it off since.

97, 98, 95 today, tomorrow, and Tues. 75 in the house atm. Looks like WSW light wind the coming days, so that should keep the shoreline pretty warm, too.

Temps peaking right now at 92/71/98. General low/mid 90's around here with 80's along the shoreline. Still only 79 in the house, so doing good. Will open the windows later after sunset.
