I was fortunate to get 0.94" overnight and this morning because, overall, this disturbance did not drop the widespread 1-3" some models were advertising a day or two ago.  Areas from Iowa City east and south got almost nothing.  There was also zero lightning/thunder with this rain.

It had also looked like Friday night would be a good storm/rain event across the area, but now that appears to be gone south, so there are some spots in ec/se Iowa that will get nothing from both nights.

Promising squall line collapsed and dissipated over the western metro. Barely wet the sidewalk here.

Yeah, I saw that. HS state track going on yesterday, and today. Finals are today. My gson has qualified in the 110m & 300m hurdles. THHS is in Section 7A. At state they compete within Class A. 3 classes in the state. A, AA, AAA with their respective Sections. Hopefully nothing will pop this aftrn down there at St. Michael.

I got some meger rain last evening 3mm instead of 8, at one point WUN had me at 27mm/1" which I waved off. Nil overnight but any rain has been removed for today just overcast til 2pm then partly sunny for the rest of the weekend! :) For a while it showed a washout weekend like 2 weeks ago now just a blip.

A dream pattern is shortly setting up with heat and 2 days of storm potential mid-week. Isolated storms so far with 8mm of rain mid-Tues.

I hate when models back off as an event approaches.  First, it was Friday (yesterday) that totally crapped out for this area.  Now, the widespread 1-2" Sunday and Monday has been reduced to scattered showers, with more isolated heavy downpours.  Some spots may get an inch, but others may get very little.  Most of the rain on Monday has been shifted east.

Had a good time yesterday chillin with family n friends at the grad party. Beautiful day with a Lake breeze that kept it comfortable in the 70's. Sun was still warm tho. Today will be different with a stiff Lake wind with temps in the 60's.
