I saw it on the Lancaster incidents map and then checked google traffic where it said it would reopen at 12:30 but I guess that was just a conservative estimate and they got it cleared much quicker. I saw the same thing that you did, and decided to head to the office a little later this morning than normal. There was also an accident on 30 just west of the 441 exit in West Hempfield. All of it was cleared when I came in this morning.

There are spots on some untreated roads that are iced over. And there are some schools that canceled classes for the day. My lane is solid ice. And temp is still at 32 @11:04am. It was 31 when I came in to work this morning. All roads along my drive were just wet. There was enough brine, salt, cinders and grandma agnes's hair oil on the roads to melt an iceberg.

Yeah, it's absurd the amount of excess crap that gets spread for every little event. We joke at work up in Harrisburg that the river up that way turns brackish during the winter from the amount of salt the capitol complex maintenance staff drops everywhere at all times. And when I say dump, I mean literally just piles all over the sidewalks, often for absolutely no threat of winter weather at all. I'm sure @canderson can attest to what I'm saying. It's not the preparation that gets me, it's the excess use of the stuff. It's ridiculous.

Just the cold hard truth. I dont like it a bit, and would be fine w/ just plows n shovels for snow removal. Thats it.
