Excitement delegated to the next dust storm or smoke filled sky from wildfires out west. Kidding. Sort-of.

hawkeye_wx
The ensembles continue to show 2.5-3" of rain across the area over the next two weeks. That's great as we head into the warm season, but it's a problem for the construction crew that has to re-grade the new stormwater wetland next to my house and then plant seed.

A dessert like summer could wipe out all of the drought progress this spring. 1

andyhb
Potential for a large scale severe weather event from the Lakes southward into the Mid South appears to be increasing for Monday (4/27, go figure) based on recent model guidance. EML looks potent across a large area with plenty of moisture, a favorable trough ejection (as of now), and strong shear across a large expanse of real estate.

Definitely the next period to watch
andyhb
00z model guidance in so far certainly does nothing to quell concerns for Monday. Could be a widespread outbreak based on just about everything I'm seeing, and the trough/EML looks to favor discrete convection for a pretty lengthy window. Going to need a dedicated thread for this soon.
cyclone77
Looking ahead we are going to have frost potential as late as May 10th. I'd hold off planting a garden for a good 12+ days. Even if the frost is light/patchy the plants probably wouldn't grow much anyway with these cooler temps.
A-L-E-K
free of frost concerns here but a naso great mid range outlook edit: naso great long range either, may looking like a toss
