There was an mPing report of snow in Raleigh but I haven't seen any flakes yet.

I did see a few tiny microflakes or snow grains and I think that is what was reported in this area but they were very far and few between.

I’m still about an hour away, haven’t seen a flake on the drive

I *think* I saw some flakes flying around the chapel hill exit on 85. Sky looks like snow that’s for sure

The air has only gotten drier in Triad. The current dewpoint is -3°.

I agree and it smells like snow outside and of course the sky has the snow look as well. Of course frustration defines this winter in this area.

What’s even more frustrating is in this case, for once, the best lift went directly over Raleigh like literally over the city in a thin band. Just a little moisture and this drops an inch of fluff in the 20’s. Alas, we suck

For those like me who also enjoy cold for its own sake, this winter is producing.  Not truly wall-to-wall because we did have some legit warm periods around Christmas and in early January, but the cold period starting at Thanksgiving that lasted until 12/15 or so was legit.  The little cold snap around New Years was nice, and of course the current cold period has been more than legit.  I also loved the little appetizer around Veteran's Day.

A weak area of low pressure moved WSW from NC mountains weakened but likely generated some lift over Upstate.
