the_other_guy
Are we really talking about a 4 inch snowstorm in NYC metro off a warm front with marginal cold to start? Hey, I hope it works!

Hey, I hope it works! If the snow/overrunning move in quickly while the cold air is still in place it can work. If it delays and the cold air moves out, it won’t. We’ve seen this game before. I wouldn't be throwing around limited numbers now - we were doing that 60 hours prior to last weekends storm and it over performed - leave all options open this far out......... At least to start. Its 32/13 on the NAM at 12Z. The bigger risk with this is it just is largely too far north in the end."
North and West
Huh? The link to the NWS blend of models is the TOTAL snowfall out to 89 hours, which is Wednesday. Look at what it’s showing…that’s now till Wednesday, total. And the GEFS is in complete disagreement with its own operational run, that is fact and it’s a red flagyou guys are spending Christmas together, aren’t you. I’m in Austin currently and flying back on Tuesday so part of me doesn’t want this to happen, but if it does and we can secure the White Christmas great. Somehow through a miracle my flight took off yesterday even though the first 15 minutes were pretty white knuckle. Wearing shorts and temp around 70, 70s expected for the rest of my time here. We took off yesterday afternoon so not always. Any snow threat always seems to do it though. I thought for sure I’d be delayed by a ton or canceled. If it shifts too far north then it’s just rain showers. If it shifts too far south then it’ll probably get shredded even more.
