Should be framed in the weenie louve. I'm glad I listened to my gut about this one and didn't get invested. I almost didn't post my analysis very early this morning. I feel bad it ended up verifying to such an extent. Screenshot_2026-02-22_180632.jpg

It was always going to happen to someone due to the area between both bands having all moisture vacuumed up. Can't cool the column. Let's remember 2009 and 2016 for how insane the cut off is in these storms. December_2009_Winter_Storm_NEUSA_snowfall.jpgwx-image2.jpg

My wife went out and got us some Mexican so I made margaritas.  I only say that to say that I'm staying up until midnight to watch this play out.  Have work tomorrow but plan on taking an 8pm and 12am observation before hitting the sack.  Let's squeeze out what we can!

Nice. Yeah I’m goi g to stay up as long as I can. Beautiful out there. Enjoy.

Now pray for storm to bomb out, retrograde further and tuck in longer. That would be the maximum hilarious factor of the rare back end cover after the news stations just predicted total snow in Harrisburg of 1"-2" after the forecast this morning

I like seeing radar in the last hour pushing the main precip shield back north & west beyond State College & Altoona. Hopefully we get into some heavier bands before the low exits east overnight.

At 8:00pm here in Carlisle...it is snowing lightly, and has been light for most of the past hour with a few brief periods of moderate snow.  The temperature seems locked at 32.4 degrees.  During the past hour I only recorded 0.2" of new snow.  This brings the storm total to 1.5".  Last night the 0Z run of the HRRR through 1:00am tomorrow only gave me a storm total of 2.7" with 0.46" of total qpf.  It will be interesting to see how close I end up coming to those numbers.

8pm Obs:  Snowing moderately at 32 degrees with 99% RH.  1.6" of wet sticky snow has fallen.  Can't say I love the radar presentation around my area but as long as it's snowing I'm happy.  Steady as she goes.  Time to put the kids to bed and give these margaritas the attention they deserve. Onward.

Incredible. I was just outside and I have .2" with flurries. All paved surfaces are wet. I'm not even going to make the low range of my prediction. Disappointing.

That's remarkable, not sure we've ever had that kind of snow difference between us.  I was wondering though, looking at the radar earlier, if things were having trouble making it your way.  I have finally dropped below 32, to 31, but with the lightest snow of the event thus far.  Again, not loving the radar.

Accumulating snow has finally resumed here for the first time in the last like 10-12 hours as that renewed surge of steady precip backing west has reached the I-99 corridor.

Winds are up too, with a high gust of 26mph (NNW). Temp down to 30ºF
