Yeah, as I tell my toddler, "Go to your room and recharge your batteries."  Professional mets can't be howling about the inconsistencies of the various models; leave that for us amateurs ha.

So well stated.  He's stealin our stuff and using it on his board.

Poor form, unless he gives our sub some creds for his posting style

Meta are experts and are taught and expected to read through multiple scenarios and atmospheric conditions and use your analysis to make a forecast.  It’s forecasting, not model reading.

These days they pretty much do model watching. Some may do legwork 80%dont

Is anyone else here extremely interested in how the AI models handle this vs the normal models vs the forecasters? I think this is great little litmus test. A rare event without many analogs. If anything I can think this maybe where AI shines. If we know CTP they will wait till writing is on the wall with this.

I thought this was worthy of bringing to attention. The cold in Canada currently is crazy. Coldest temperatures in 50 years!!!Screenshot_20251223_191814_X.jpg20251223_191830.jpg20251223_191834.jpg20251223_191847.jpg

That’s what is bringing the major wind storm here Monday.

BTW had the Plummy Wummy tonight - delicious!

To say I am not amused at the continuing weather pattern is an understatement.

Does anybody see a break on the horizon, or are we locked in?

If something doesn't change after the new year, I might end up in a really bad place...

I think I have the flu. Whatever just hit me in the last hour has me laying in my bathroom floor, with pillows, blankets, far too sick to move.

It’s going around. 20 or so coworkers of mine have it that I know.

I think you need to take a vacation to Southern Florida for 2 weeks to rejuvenate from the weather.

Tomorrow should be relatively nice with sun & temps in the low 40s.

Hopefully that helps a bit.

Voyager, with all due respect, and I have empathy for what you’re going through, I really do, but this is a weather forum where the vast majority of us are rooting for winter weather in winter. The negative posts can be a bit much at times. I really hope you get to a better place sometime soon.

Unlike those who work in an office or other enclosed building, and have a short commute to work and home, I work outside for a good portion of my day and drive 10-12 hours in whatever winter throws at us. Cold and snow makes what I do for a living exponentially more difficult (and dangerous sometimes) than on warm days.

That being said, even though it's imperative that I know how the weather is going to affect my day, perhaps it's time for a break from this forum until spring.

My apologies...

We need those winter weather reports from Tamaqua. You matter!
