With our 0.8" of sleet and ice yesterday our December snow total is now at 11.2" this is the 5th most in December in the 23 years I have been at this location. Temperatures today will struggle to get to freezing so be careful out there. We warm to near 40 degrees tomorrow and then turn unseasonably warm on Monday with highs into the middle 50's. To go along with the warmer temperatures rain will arrive tomorrow night and last into Monday. The cold returns by Monday night and we will end the days leading into the New Year with well below normal temperatures.

Great wall-to-wall winter, actually. Technically, 17-18 and 20-21 also had above average December snowfall.

I think it’s my favorite winter of my lifetime(born 1990) for that exact reason.  wall to wall winter with really no warm spells til march. That never happens around here.

Thanks!  Don’t forget the icy gusty winds they are coming.

Very low flow at 925mb has allowed for a near-stationary low-level cloud deck to develop. This is reflecting on the temp maps, where it is in the low 20s near Philadelphia and Bucks county, but holding around 30 degrees here in Chester County. Neat stuff

Cloudy with temperatures slowly rising to near and then above freezing this evening. There could be a couple light showers this evening that in some of the higher ridge areas could briefly see some light icing if temperatures are still freezing when the showers arrive. The good news is temperatures will continue to rise tonight and well into the 40's tomorrow with a line of showers passing through in the morning. We will become sharply colder again tomorrow with temperatures dropping to freezing by evening. We then stay well below normal for the remainder of the week and into the first week of 2026. Next light snow chance looks possible around New Year's Day.

No but it will manage to virga until it's dark and hits 33F

Getting screwed is a possibility in our area at all times. Just check radar and check surrounding stations is all we have. Any sort of virga sucks and should be illegal say only weenies....image.thumb.jpeg.0ebfbbf0673385a7dda693771385c470.jpeg
