There were several trees that I could hear come down around forty minutes ago, and I saw several power flashes on a wild ride home from York Haven tonight with no shortage of road closures and trees down along the way. I've been hanging out down in my basement since I heard the first tree come down near my home. I'm not getting any of the wind protection tonight that i've talked about. This s***'s f****** b****.

It’s really bad, for sure. Different than a normal wind event.

How do you get those high gusts? Are you on a ridge top? Open area? Even on the windiest days, I can barely get to 15 mph.

My peak gust was 18.9 mph just after 1:00am according to my station.

Wind was insane last night. Even though I only had a gust of 37 (because I live down in the hollow) If i'd walk up on the hill from my house I could hear those winds were much stronger. Wife was in bed when that came through and she said it sounded like there was thunder with it (probably explains why my German Shepherd was not on the porch, she went and hid). Picked up .05 rain with that too.

I'm not sure if it was isolated or if anyone picked it up tonight, but right around five o'clock, the temperature spiked about eight degrees in a few minutes while I was in dillsburg and the wind just came out of nowhere without warning. From the very first gust, it meant business out that way.

Yes MU mentioned how they and LNS experienced this. Talked about how compressional warming can often be maximized right ahead of a cold front.

Got up in the middle of the night to make sure my hot tube cover was still batten down. The one corner came unhooked but it was fine.

Earlier this morning as the sun was coming up the sky was really neat. The  full moon was still shining while the sun was coming up.

Awesome sight !!

Anything noteworthy last evening over your way?

That was a legit high wind event in Maytown. Branches down everywhere around town. Several large trees on the shoulder going over Chickies this morning. I was "anxious" for a few hours due to the strength of the wind.

My temp went from 57 at 6pm to 68 at it's peak as the front arrived at 8:45pm. (then plunged 16 degrees over the next 20 minutes)

Not that I can tell.  We seem to have avoided any issues at my place.  I'm with you though, there were some moments where I thought for sure I was going to be hearing a big pine limb come down.  Thankfully not.
