TC ASW
Definitely a tough 'local' forecast, as I had to give guidance for guests here on whether to stay overnight last night and then risk driving down twisty icy roads this morning (for an early morning drive to ATL), or just get a hotel down Asheville for an easier/safer start.....they elected to get the hotel. Forecast verfication - Temperatures got down to 30F at top of Bearwallow Mtn, just 700 ft above me, so there was definitely freezing rain/ice up there, and it still 32F there at the moment. However we managed to bottom out at just 33F here at the Thunder Mountain Compound, and so it is just wet and foggy outside....
Maggie Valley Steve
Woke up to a low of 34 here in the Valley at 3200ft. Looks like Cataloochee dropped to 33 with light rain. Warm nose saved us for this event. Keeping an eye on Sunday afternoon into Monday for another shot of wintry weather. I see DC has snow this morning. Good for them.
