I'm enjoying this "active" weather! Pretty windy here, and it's cloudy at the moment, but yeah the moon is super bright. So bright that it's heating the ground and helping to mix down those strong winds, lol.

I could have a football catch without any actual electric lights. The deer are probably a little perplexed. They usually come out of the woods overnight because it's dark but you can see them clear as day.
ChescoWx
A year ago, today we saw record high temperatures across the area with temperatures in the 80's for many spots. Today we will see readings about 30 degrees cooler than that with highs mainly in the lower 50's. Some frost and freeze potential for especially valley spots tonight before we start a gradual warming trend through the weekend. We then turn sharply colder Sunday evening with a widespread hard freeze across the area by late Monday evening. We could even see some snow flurries later Monday. Our best shower chances look to be Friday night.

Lady Di
Have pictures of us as kids back in 1966 Christmas Day. I was 5 and don't remember. 1978 they didn't plow 1 street in our neighborhood, and we all went sledding down that street for days. Feb 1983 was out in that one all day/night. First time witnessed thunder and lighting. Jan 1996 Eagles played Dallas in Dallas that day. I didn't get out for 2 days after that one. Feb 2014 I was staying with my Mom after my father's death and it felt like all I did was shovel snow. Was it 2010 that we had the 2 storms in a week of each other? That was a lot of snow. Cars were buried and we cleared the deck before the 2nd one hit. Stucco windowsills froze outside the house and thawed so many times they blew apart. Maybe we'll get one good one this year.
bigtenfan
To this day i wonder if the 1996 game was to be played in Philly instead of Dallas would Rendell have declared an emergency and postponed the game.

Inside, Rendell being a big Birds fan, he would have wanted the game to be played. But he probably would have been under so much pressure to postpone the game. Literally a life/death kinda storm and if someone died because of his decision to play the game it would have been a nightmare and ended his political career. I think we were under a state of emergency...

I think we were under a state of emergency... I don’t recall at exactly what point, but eventually they closed all roads. Unless you were a first responder, it was illegal to drive. Just for $hits & giggles I call my company’s snow line Monday morning (yes, pre-internet days). The message basically said, “The office is open and although the roads are closed, associates are expected to make every effort to come in”. yeah, right…FU! I went back to bed. I worked for a company like that where we had to call in. If they had enough people show up we did a little something but never a full day but pay for the full day. If only two or three showed up, ate a little breakfast/donuts/coffee. Didn't work a minute, sent home and paid for the full day. Being a weenie I didn't mind traveling in the snow. I actually look forward to it and getting paid for a full day for doing nothing it was well worth it. Another bright full moon, cool and crisp.
