Looks like Bradish and Wells will be back in the Bigs and pitching in the next 2 weeks.

Quote

BOSTON—Pitcher Kyle Bradish is nearing the end of his long rehab. Bradish, who had Tommy John surgery in June 2024, will have one more rehab start at Triple-A Norfolk before he returns to the Orioles sometime between August 25th-27th during the Orioles-Red Sox series at Camden Yards.

Bradish’s return will precede by several days the mandated roster expansion on September 1st when the Orioles will add another pitcher and position player.

Interim manager Tony Mansolino said a six-man rotation is a possibility.

“As we get into September, and we get the extra guy, I think it will be an interesting conversation on the six-starter thing,” Mansolino said on Monday before the Orioles started a two-game series against the Red Sox. “It’s definitely something we’re discussing, not anything we’re committing to quite yet. There’s probably a pretty good chance that it happens, but we’ll see.”

Tyler Wells, who also had right elbow surgery in June 2024, will get two more rehab starts at Triple-A Norfolk, so he could be added a few days after Bradish.

Add them to Rogers and Kremer, and you have the makings of a solid rotation with Povich and others in the mix, and Grayson possibly back next season. That said, can't count on so many guys rebounding from serious injuries, so we need an actual GM who will be aggressive in signing a top tier pitcher in the offseason.

Don't forget Eflin as long as he can stay healthy.  I know this season is done, but....if the bizarro world somehow unfolded where they could somehow eek into the last wildcard spot, I think they could make things at least interesting.  Please feel free to ridicule me, but they seem to be going back to the fundamentals somewhat and I think they will at least play spoiler to some of the teams looking to make the postseason.

All in all, they need to be healthy for a full season to make any run at the postseason and that definitely didn't happen this year.

Elias will absolutely blow smoke up our collective asses that a rotation of Rogers, Kremer, Rodriguez, Bradish, and Wells/Povich/Suarez/whomever can go all the way next season and it’s a joke.

He needs to be fired, or given an ultimatum to improve the team through free agency. Every prospect can't be off limits. The guy is weird.

You would think they would be in the market for a front line starter wether through free agency or via trade and also a mid rotation type. You can never have enough with arm injuries these days. I wouldn't count on getting anything from Rodriguez and who knows with Bradish/ Wells coming off TJ.  Wells is better suited for a set up man IMO.

Yes, Rodgers has been amazing but is it a blip or is he suddenly a staff ace.

Something between his current self and AJ Preller would be great.

Talk about a guy going for it every trade deadline. Do they even have a current AAA roster?

Bautista is done as an Oriole as he will miss another year after shoulder surgery. So unless they strike gold with a prospect, add closer to the must have list along with a number one starter in the offseason. Elias gonna get this done? Bwahahahaha!

Fire the muthafucker the day after the season ends.

He's under team control through 2027 so maybe he pitches in 27 but I wouldn't be surprised If his career is over. They basically had to reattach his shoulder.

It's a shame. He was so dominant before he had TJ in 2023.

There's no high leverage arms left in the bull pen. Cano stinks. Lots of retooling to do.

You can start to see the Forrest through the trees for next year. Need a  starter or 2. Add a closer and a couple late inning options and a veteran bat.

There line up suddenly looks alot better with Basillo and Beavers inserted in to it.

I saw a stat  yesterday that they have the 5th best record in baseball since May 24th. Almost for half a season. Just shows how awful they were to start.

Basillo 8 year Contract extension.

Wow

Oh. My. Goodness :o

Ha...SEE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN BORAS ISN'T THE AGENT?????

See this proves it...he is the reason we haven't extended anybody else (especially Gunnar). I was hoping Basallo didn't have him as an agent and thankfully he doesn't, lol

Boris clients have signed extensions over the years. Yes he does like to take his ciients to Free agency  but Boris works for the player. Not the other way around.

Blaming the agent takes the blame away from the failure that Elias has been for the last 2 years.

I'm pretty sure you work in the PR department at the warehouse.

How many times have I said Elias needs to go? Now if I were in front office PR why would I say that? Lol It's almost like because I'm not telling Rubenstein to sell the team already, or just am giving him a little more time to see what kind of owner he'll be, that y'all think I'm somehow orange kool-aide drinking or something for the FO. I am not. This really has less to do with Elias other failures and more to do with the question of the organization as whole and the question of their willingness to lock up young talent early. And in this case...this is how I see it:

I just disagree with this narrative that the team simply isn't trying. I mean just last year...Boras himself said that the Orioles had been constantly reaching out to him about Gunnar "only every other day". That means he turned them down, lol And factually: None of those Boras extensions have been "early" except two: the rest came in arbitration years. In total: It was just 5 Boras players who took extensions before free agency. Now if you wanna argue against facts I can't help ya...

Yes he works for the players: But what has history shown us? He wants his players to maximize their value and they follow his lead in that almost every single time. Gunnar has only just started building his star power: The fact of the matter is they'd have to drop like $450-$500 million right now to get him: and only MAYBE would Gunnar and his agent accept that (they might not). He could actually make more if he waits for free agency. I think some of you are vastly underestimating the problem Boras has been and why fans from small market teams all over can't stand him as an agent.
