Except for moon we have very dark skies outside of town here, good for viewing auroral displays and meteor showers and night sky etc. I slept from 10-2 and then got up to look for shooting stars from 2-5 and then slept again from 5-9 lol. I saw a handful of shooting stars.

The warm spots like Newark have had plenty of September and October record heat in recent years. Just notice all the records and near records since 2015. JFK has had nearly as many record and near record highs as Newark in the fall during recent years even though it’s a much cooler location. JFK had record heat into early November last year with the developing drought. So fall record heat has been a constant in recent years. I can tell you about my experiences driving from here to the Poconos, there are two main heat spikes, one is in Queens and the other one is in Eastern NJ. I find both of these places intolerable to walk around outside in more than a few minutes so I didn't unless I was out of gas lol. Once I drove past eastern NJ on I-80 and got past about Morristown, the weather always got much nicer. It's like this every summer, no matter how hot it is, those places are always hot. I can understand why some people have to work in these places, but why would anyone ever want to live there? Both urban and rural NJ sections weren’t consistently as warm as they have been since 2010. Getting 30+ and 40+ days reaching 90° only happened from time to time with many cooler seasons under 20 days and even 10 days. These days most of the seasons are over 30 days with the cooler seasons under 20 or 10 days hard to come by anymore.

Recurving means lower heights along the EC meaning cooler. A more southerly track means a probably hotter pattern.

So I think 100 in September is possible here one day, but those records from 1983 are still really hard to beat, that 98 in 1983 has been in place for over 4 decades now. 1983 was incredible for June, July, August and September all being WAY above normal and 100 degrees in both July and August!!!!
