Wow.

I heard it rain twice overnight. It woke me up both times. I thought to myself "it's really coming down out there."

Woke up for good this morning and told my wife that I wouldn't be surprised if we picked up a half inch to an inch...

Rainfall total?

3.22". Maytown was under water...both 743 and 441 were closed in a couple of spots from high water.

Edit: Just saw the Flash Flood Warning. Depending on when you last checked, me thinks you ended up with a good bit more than .15"

Yeah I missed out on most of that extreme overnight stuff and then I had left the house prior to that big line hitting this morning.  Judging from the WU stations right near me, I picked up an additional ~.5", nothing close to what transpired out your way.

I must have been riding the line of the most intense rainfall - the airpark down the road ended up with 2.51", or about 3/4 of an inch less than me.

We should see some nice weather today through much of Friday before yet another wet weekend. Although not a wash out rain chances will be around especially on Saturday. Once shower chances arrive they may stick around through at least next Tuesday. Temperature wise we should see highs near 80 today and up to the low to mid 80's both Thursday and Friday before we see highs drop back below normal for mid June through much of the next week. Looking ahead at this point we don't see any sustained heat or temps in the 90's across the area for the rest of June.

We are monitoring a possible increase in severe storm probs for
Thursday afternoon and evening; we spoke with the SPC concerning
a categorical upgrade to MRGL (level 1) severe storm risk. The
last 2 runs of the HREF indicate moderate destablization
overlapping with favorable deep layer shear on the southern
periphery of stronger west-northwest flow aloft. Limiting
factors at this stage include displacement of best lift (well to
the north) and weak convergence along the southward moving cold
front - which reduces confidence to some extent. We would
anticipate at least a MRGL risk on day 1 if a stronger signal
for robust development emerges with time.

PWATs continue to trend higher into Friday ~1.5" with a good
signal for scattered showers and storms particularly across
south central PA into the Susquehanna Valley. Cloud cover and
weak low passing by to the southeast could limit instability
over most of the area with the synoptic setup favoring some
locally heavy/slow moving downpours. Cloudy and foggy conditions
expected Friday night with some scattered rain showers hanging
around into Saturday morning.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for central Pennsylvania.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

A few strong thunderstorms containing small hail and gusty
winds will likely form across the Northern Mountains of the
state this afternoon and drift slowly south across the Central
Mountains, Middle Susquehanna Valley and Western Poconos
late today and this evening.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

Several rounds of slow-moving showers and thunderstorms
with locally heavy rainfall will occur Friday night through
Sunday and could result in an increasing threat for flash
flooding of small streams, creeks and poor drainage areas.
The greatest risk for flash flooding will likely be late
Saturday and Sunday. The southern portion of the state and
areas of complex terrain will be especially vulnerable given
enhanced rapid runoff with heavy rainfall.

The storm formation and movement is an interesting scenario for this area. It's very similar to the summer monsoon pattern in Arizona. Storms from in the mountains north of Phoenix, and then slowly drift south towards the metro area.

Often times out there, however, that drift is new storms forming on the outflow boundaries, but still...

Just got lunch at the Cork & Fork and met Jns2183 for the first time, a great dude!
It was amazing meeting you in person. Usually it's not quite that busy for myself at lunch. June & July can get a bit nuts due to budget. Fun fact, like 8-9 years ago, not long after I started I had a group of 25 house and Senate representatives walk him to the bar at 1145 and proceed to order 2 shots of Blanton's each. At 1.5oz that's 75oz; each bottle being 25.31oz they kicked the 3 bottles we had in stock in 15 minutes, just as we closed. We used to have a copy of the $900 bill tacked to wall on the office. Regardless, when I asked if they were celebrating getting the budget passed they said no, that they were actually at an impasse and thought this may help. Apparently the liquor did the job, as I read the next day that they reached a deal within an hour of leaving.

Haha that's a great story.  You seem like a top-notch bartender.  I'll have to come in sometime when I can try one of your cocktails.  My boss was darn close to ordering an old fashioned and had he done so, I would have quickly followed suit ha.  But alas, duty called.  Food was outstanding!
