Central PA Summer 2025

From MU:
Here’s a fun little stat: there have only been 3, 90-degree days at @millersvilleu so far this month. However, the high temp has reached 89F on an additional 8 days. One single degree is separating us from having 20, 90-degree days so far this season. Instead, there have been 12.

That’s why I am not into these stats when it comes to maximum high temperatures or cold minimum temperatures. Still felt like 90F.

And the 90F mark is real not a good barometer anymore. 95F is the new 90F.

Yes indeed. I will remember this summer ultimately for the tropical humidity and rainfall. Both of which appear to be returning in the near future.

.LONG TERM /SATURDAY THROUGH TUESDAY/...
Latest model trends continue to point toward the potential for
several rounds of t-storms over the last weekend of July. An
active convective training setup on the northern periphery of
the upper ridge may result in repeat or training MCS/MCV storm
clusters capable of producing locally heavy rainfall and perhaps
carrying a strong to severe t-storm threat. WPC has included
the entire area in the D4 MRGL/level 1 excessive rain risk for
Saturday. The timing and placement of precip is more uncertain
for Sunday with best signal over eastern/northeastern PA.

Taking this a step further, SPC has the eastern US "under the gun" for repeated rounds of severe weather extending well into next week.

Today will be another below normal temperature day across the area before we start a warming trend to close out the work week. The hottest day will be Friday with widespread 90's across the area. We turn wetter and a little cooler over the weekend with rain chances - but not a washout for much of the weekend.

Real feel is a much more tangible barometer for many of us.  Thats why I chuckle when spats over stats happen.

When ballsacks are drippin, it doesnt matter if its being recorded as 89 vs 90.  They both suck equally IMO.

Just wanted to let you know that an event worth coming outta da cave happened yesterday.

I became a grandpa to my first grandson.

Over the moon excited to meet him tonight or tomorrow.  40hr labor w/ C section after daughter in law "ran outta gas".  Proud of her... and my son.

Happy times no matter the heat...wet sacks n all.

Have a great day all.

Congratulations! That is wonderful news, and my very best to your entire family. Wishing your grandson many, many years of health and happiness.

Warning: the fun goes by oh so quickly...we welcomed our first granddaughter back in January 2022. Can't believe she's already cruising towards her 4th birthday. Both mom and dad work so my wife and I enjoy a lot of time with our little girl. Next month Pappy is taking her on her 1st trip to Disney World. Can't wait.

Sounds awesome, and yeah, remebering how quickly our kids grew up, I can only imagine how much faster it'll go w/ grandkids.  You are lucky to have so much time with your little ones...hoping the same here.

Only managed a low of 65 down this way.

I'm heading up PA Rt. 44 this weekend. I'll be very close to the Black Forest Inn if you know where that is.

Very nice, looks like a cool little spot.  Always nice to escape the heat up that way.  Go another 10-15 miles north and you'd be at my buddy's cabin.  Have fun!

Congrats on the grandson!  That has to be so exciting to get to relive those phases of life.  The years really do fly by, still can't believe ours are already 3 and 5.  It's amazing and sad all at the same time watching them grow up.  It just swells your heart.
