1234snow
Snow totals were low for the Valley but the precip panels looked okay to me.
Holston_River_Rambler
My silliness aside, like some of you have said, there is still upside to even that run (it could trend better) and downside or it could trend much worse (viz. Euro)

As you noted, it looks to me like the Gfs almost formed the main low in the GOM. If that happens...good things.
bearman
I like the low way up in Canada. Lets all set up a time to mind link to it and make it rotate around our area about 3 times and we will all be ready for spring.

All kidding aside, i think the flow could certainly throw a clipper event this way. In fact, I'd almost expect it following the event early next week.
PowellVolz
Is the low snow total up the valley because of sleet or cold rain?.
PowellVolz
Here is the run: This doesn’t match up with the accumulation map. This looks like a home run for the valley IMO. .

PowellVolz
Low QPF, which I'd assume is underdone. Downsloping shouldn’t be an issue other than with the frontal passage .

Carvers Gap
31 minutes ago, PowellVolz said: Is the low snow total up the valley because of sleet or cold rain? . Downsloping most likely off the Apps. I think those lower totals have probably been there all along, but that lollipop near Knoxville was hiding it. Ask @tnweathernuthow much he likes downsloping.....LOL. .It is probably the one set-up where I can out score him in JC. 3
Carvers Gap
Actually, it isn't downslope. Only the mountain counties catch that second slug of moisture.
TellicoWx
Slight uptick in the GEFS...steady as she goes. Also, can see a little semblance of possible moisture being banked up against the Plateau/Mountains (that wouldn't be well picked up on until 24hr or less out, could enhance snowfall in those areas).
Silas Lang
1 hour ago, PowellVolz said: RGEM out to 84 . Man, that looks tasty. Something like that looks like it could nail the whole state pretty well, including Chattanooga. I am nervous about that second wave approach that 18z GFS advertised for the East. Would much rather get involved in the initial wave (like the RGEM shows) and go from there.
Daniel Boone
The lower Snow Totals in the Valley are quite possibly due to the average difference in occurences ingested into the Model's. I.e,. say, Kingsport got 1 inch the last 3 Snowfalls while Knoxville got 2 , the Models over time will show Knoxville getting more in their output. Of course, if any wind is forecast, downsloping will be as well. The City to City Avgs may well be factored in now . That I don't know.
Silas Lang
Anyone have any thoughts on the 18z Euro? I know it doesn't go out far, but curious if it looked better for us. I am not good at reading those vort maps, so I can't really tell.
