There's a little more light snow action in KS and N OK on the 12z Euro with the first system but it's also going to miss as well.

Looks like a 1-3" event here Friday into Saturday, but a more substantial event for the late weekend period. This does appear to be a more aggressive run of the Euro, so we'll see what the ensembles say.

As cold as it is... not moisture creates a nightmare of issues. If this next 10 days or so pans out like it is modeled, it will be one of the best consecutive winter stretches in a long time.

Yeah, this is a pretty awesome image here.

This is the 50 euro members mean snowfall over the entire run.

This is from 3 or 4 separate storm systems rolling through from late this weekend throughout next week.

Normally a high average total like this is because there's a storm 1-2 days out and its got some good precip so all the members converge. But to see it this high because of a lengthy period of snow is more akin to the NE, not down here. Bring it on!

So the mean is showing a large area of 5-7 at 10:1? Ratios should be a good bit amount higher than that, so sign me up.

Man, this run of cold weather is really something. If this pans out anything like the GFS is saying, (haven't looked as closely on other models) that would be about 2 straight weeks of below freezing! With most days not even close to freezing. Jury is still out on snow potential, but one would have to assume we will have at least few shots of precip. With high ratios we could put down a decent fresh snow pack and really send temps plummeting. Will be a fun few weeks of model watching for sure! I am in Wichita, but obviously this goes for many others on this board.

So apparently there is a microscale incident ongoing in Springdale, Arkansas with snow being reported there but nowhere else in the general area of NW Arkansas.

I heard this on the news at 6.  I was in Springdale for a high school basketball game until about 5:45.  It was only drizzle then so I must have just missed it.
