I think it is extremely uncomfortable to go out in rain or sleet so in this case, especially since it is the weekend, I will try to time when the dry slot comes through but before the hounds of winter come rolling in to lock in whatever is still on the driveway.  I have to do about 1/8" of a mile with a shovel.  LOL.  I refuse to get a blower.

I have about 500' between my house and my Mom's. I have a couple Ariens blowers and a Kioti tractor. I work smarter not harder anymore.

The 18Z GFS moves/transfers/retrogrades the Low into South Central VA now.  It is still too late, at least using the GFS output, to save us from turnover but we are still far enough out to keep open the possibility of that transfer happening earlier.  Where the low at the same time frame of 12Z was in the panhandle of WV is it near Richmond now.   This would jive with Mag's and Millvilles calls for a mostly icy result.

Did the ICON do any good with our NOV storm? I can't remember.

And does anyone think the snow cover to our south could help lock in some cold better then currently projected?

I think the cold up north under the high pressure will have more to do with longevity of surface cold. Some parts of southern Quebec are supposed to be in the -10's Saturday and down into the -30s for lows. The arctic cold is there. High pressure is moderately strong but the pressure difference is more significant with the robust low pressure coming from the south. I think surface/near surface cold transport via ageostrophic flow will favor the colder guidance and thus I think there may be a more expansive ice threat in the mixing areas.

Yeah...I'm rooting for that band to not fall apart by the time it reaches here.  It looks like it just might make it.  This statement only covers it as far north as Shippensburg at the moment.

It would be a nice little surprise burst of heavy stuff, I need it to just get across the river...
