I am gonna post this just for fun. Mondays threat according to the gfs 00z. Wish we could look this in.

I think with the next 3 clippers 4-8 inches would be very possible for WPA with possible blizzard conditions Saturday.  While not major snows for a single event, the fact that the 3 clippers are so close together will hopefully make it seem like 1 long event.

Something to really consider with us going in the deep freeze the next week and a half, and a possible favorable pattern for storms in February is if we get a cutter with lots of rain and a thaw at the end of the pattern there could be major flooding issues. The rivers are likely to freeze over completely, as much as they have in quite some time as I am having a hard time remembering an extended stretch of under 20 degree weather like this recently.

Something to keep an eye on for sure.

Weekend system looks like its dropping between .2 -.3 qpf per 12z NAM and GFS, if that trend continues it seems reasonable to say a widespread area of 3-5 inches are possible.

Monday system looks to be trending more NW, need that thing to track along the M/D line then swing North, but still time to see how both of these potential events will evolve.

Well Channel 2 KDKA just tweeted & Facebooked a 3-6 inch total

Was just browsing through the New England thread and came across this: http://www.wsi.com/blog/energy/sub-seasonal-u-s-temperature-outlook-bitter-cold-weather-is-anticipated-to-continue-through-the-end-of-february/

If you are rooting for cold through the end of Feb it should make you pretty happy! If this verifies I hope we can time a nice moisture laden system with one of the outbreaks.

I too keep seeing varying amounts. Heres hoping we all get large amounts with this storm and/or with future storms. I am still wishing/waiting for that one big snow storm this year. (Fingers crossed)

well Im hoping for wpxi prediction 3-5. Also Superbowl weekend looks interesting for a bigger storm.

So how much snow are we getting? I am seeing vastly different predictions anywhere from 1-3 to 4-6.

Where are you seeing higher amounts?  NWS has 1-3 inches.  The latest GFS has a snow hole in AGC.   I have seen that snow hole on models for a few days now.  Expecting an inch or 2 of blowing snow in SW AGC.

I see PBZ has dropped totals from 3-5 area wide to 2-4.

Yeah, I am seeing around .2 qpf, except the NAM which had almost.3 (and it's only right when it shows less qpf than other models  :P ) but either way 2-4 looks good and I think most should be closer to the 3-4 range. Keep in mind a few .01 one way or another will make a difference.

Looks like we're back to 3-5" from PBZ.  Down here, I think 2-4" is more appropriate.

I personally think 1-5" or maybe 2-9" that is very appropriate but definitely not 3-5" :axe:, ...oy arguing minutiae has become topical now.  Liked it better  a few years ago when we talked about the NAM, when we had mets here commenting on cyclogenesis and orthographic lift in Mon valley. Now we are contrarians for the sake of being contrarians.
