I must admit it was fun watching and following Sandy from both excitement and fascination (ill never forgot how strong the winds were) but the aftermath wasn't pretty. Losing power for a week made me lucky as many lost homes. I love hurricane season but I'd rather we avoid the hurricane this year. I am officially done with hurricanes, probably forever. Losing some trees and power for a few days to a week is nothing like what we near the immediate coast went through-my town in particular no clean/running water for nearly 2 weeks, no power for 3 weeks, nearly 1,000 homes needing to be demolished because of damage beyond repair, hundreds more flooded to the point of severe damage (my home), infrastructure horrendously damaged, numerous fires, no hospital still today, one elementary school that served hundreds of kids still out today, others still repairing, etc. I had an awful feeling about Sandy for many days if you go back and look through my posts, and unfortunately my fears were confirmed and then some. If we can avoid the clouds like today I suspect places like EWR, TEB, LGA exceed 100, perhaps even the park can get there. They were 97 today with plenty of clouds from the mid afternoon onward.
