uncle W Posted May 25, 2013 Share Posted May 25, 2013 the clearing line is still back near the NJ PA border...it's not moving very fast...clouds could linger all day...any sunshine will boost temps toward 60...with no sun temps will end up in the mid 50's...near record cool for the date...Things can change in a hurry and it could be hot by next weekend...The record low for the date is 41 set in 1925...It was 91 on June 1st, 1925 and 99 on the 4th and 5th...1967 was 42 on this date with a max of 46...It was 88 on 6/2 and June 67 ended up above average...1956 was 42 on this date...it was 89 on 5/31/56 and 99 on 6/14... I had what appeared to be graupel mix in very briefly with the rain before around 12:20pm here in Great Neck when doing errands. Its highly unlikely snowflakes would reach the surface with high humidity and temperatures in the low 50s. Graupel is the most likely answer.
