Met1985
Nice Don! Well we hit the jackpot at home last night and this morning. We have ended up with 5.5 inches of snow and still pouring as I type. Beautiful snow this morning but roads are very slick. Current temp is 17 degrees. I have heard more towards the TN/NC boarder they have close to a foot. May have to inspect that later today.
NavarreDon
Congrats 85! I knew looking at the radar last night it was going to be a good one for you. Post pics if you can. It has stopped here now but we have white ground which in this winter is a win.

nchighcountrywx
Another great winter outdoor sports day in the NC High Country. Some snow still falling and around 10 degrees still mid morning. Get out from behind your computer screens and drive on up and enjoy it. This may be the last weekend of true solid cold and snow.
NCSNOW
Wish I had the funds to get up there. The guns are off at sugar and the summit cam is beautiful. You can see the natural snow falling and skiers in true powder. Right at a 100 inch base in spots and its March 3 rd. you will not get better conditions in March than what they have right now. Heck you'd be hard pressed in the dead of winter to beat the current conditions. Congrats to everyone and fill free to post pics

franklin NCwx
Beautiful country you have there, 1985. Maybe I'll retire to Haywood county someday. im looking for property in soco gap. The balsams always seem to be a jackpot area. Also Haywood county is not too bad in propery taxes either. Macon is the lowest.
LithiaWx
National weather service never said that...never made it beyond a winter weather advisory. Who said 20+? You did... I can see the 12-24" for prime NW flow areas...but I think the bigger story will be for everyone else off the mountains...and that will be dry cold. NW flow affects fairly few few posters here...maybe 8 at best?

If you are going to claim "victory" in accumulation forecasting from some of your earlier "maps" (and, I do realize that map is used quite loosely in this case ), then you're going to have to also own up to your "defeats." So that easily hit his 12-24" window. I would guess LeConte pulls in 10+ more by Thursday.
