CranberryWX
Awww SPC isn't playing nice. Slight is still basically W of I-81. Most of central WV is in the slight. Thanks for the heads up....haven't been paying attention. It feels like a good day for storms. The morning was warm, the air is getting moist, and the sun is out. Feels good out right now. Ellinwood
doesnt look like we're getting to near 70 today Pre-frontal trough will move eastwards and put us in the almost-70 area probably. Same thing happened last week when we hit 80 (a 15-degree jump from 65 that DCA recorded at noon that day). 53 today at noon using the same numbers would put us at 68, so it's still possible. yoda
Apparently a conditional risk of hail has been added by SPC for us in their 1630 OTLK if the storms can make it over the mountains this evening

CranberryWX
Line of showers and storms developing along the front as it sags south into N WV and SE OH. They are moving at a good clip west to east along the boundary. Up to 76 here with 56 DP.
MN Transplant
still 60, this time of year s wind is a killer at dca If we can get away from the S wind at all there is still a decent chance at 70. A majority of the PWSs inside the beltway in VA are 68/69 and almost all of them west of the Beltway are 70+.
Avdave
This is nice, windows open, nice breeze, though it is mostly cloudy now. Storms firing up nicely over northern WV, but it comes to the old question as usual, will it make it over the mountains Made it to a high of 70 here today

I see it in your attachment and when I go to their radar page. It used to always run through the frames smooth and quickly, but something changed in the last month. I see it on on both my old desktop and newer laptop at home.

CranberryWX
I guess I can see what he is talking about but it's always been that way for me. I have my default set to 30 frames on the animation. The frames don't progress in a smooth fashion like they used to. It's worthless like this because I can't get a feel for the actual speed that precip is moving. Ellinwood
The storms bearing down on me from SE OH have warnings posted with them for hail and high winds. Two embedded rotations within that cluster... could tighten up as the storms mature, maybe get us some tornado warnings soon-ish as they cross over into WV. CranberryWX
Teays, does this show up better, smoother ? Yes, but my local radar is still jerky. It may have to do with streaming video. My kids are watching it now, so I'm going to test it out later. We just became heavy users of streaming Netflicks...

We just became heavy users of streaming Netflicks... that shouldnt affect the quality once it's downloaded. there are times when i get an error and it sticks on a frame and i have to refresh it but it sounds like memory or browser issues to me. BethesdaWX
Fantastic thunderstorm this morning in Germantown, lightning-wise at least, was a nice thing to wake up to, although Zero wind, 30 second downpour. Those suckers were quite close though, made me jump a bit. Meanwhile, still warming up? 73.3 now, highest for the day. A bit of a southerly breeze 10-15mph.
