  1. Josh, cool idea. I've had the 6"+ list compiled for Chicago for quite awhile...you should have asked. Regardless, I've got a few corrections/added missing data to your list. Below are the ones that I have that are different from yours for Chicago... 1886-87: 2 1891-92: 3 1896-97: 2 1897-98: 2 1898-99: 0 1899-00: 2 1917-18: 3 1927-28: 3 1932-33: 2 1934-35: 3 1949-50: 1 1950-51: 2 1957-58: 1 1958-59: 2 1966-67: 3 1968-69: 1 1974-75: 3 1989-90: 2 2000-01: 3 2006-07: 2 2007-08: 1
  2. Josh would chase this thing if it were over land.
  3. Yeah they made the commitment to him, and will likely sign him long term in the offseason. They need to give him the supporting cast to get the passing game to be more of a threat. The OL should be easy enough to fix in the offseason, but for whatever reason, the Ravens are awful drafting/developing a legit WR. They signed Boldin as a FA, and that helped them win a SB. Not sure who is available via trade or free agency, but they need to do what Buffalo did when they got Diggs. Look at the difference in Josh Allen this year. Night and day. Buffalo also did a great job implementing the short passing game- receiver screens etc, to help him be more efficient. Meanwhile, the Ravens are stuck with the severely overrated and unimaginative Greg Roman.
  4. I hope there is no snow, I want Josh Allen dropping dimes. Lamar can't throw. Snow favors ravens pretty hard.
  5. I can’t wait for Josh Allen at 8:15 Saturday night. GO RAVENS.
  6. I completely agree. You know it makes me laugh, all the fans last week “play the starters we need to keep our momentum”...how'd that work today? They were very one dimensional and as you stated if colts don’t doink a chip shot field goal or kick the other chip shot field goal instead of going for it Bills lose...not to mention the fortuitous fumble bounce right to Williams hands on Josh’s best attempt at reliving last year at Houston. They play like that and they will not win next week.
  7. Don’t know who is calling the plays the Buffalo today but wtf! You run it with Moss on 2nd & 3rd and short? With Josh Allen at QB? Spread everyone out and utilize quick WR’s and Allen’s legs.
  8. josh on nbc ct had 4" in harwinton......thats not bad i guess......we were just there yesterday......well on our ride to and from mohawk......they need some new snow for sure.......the fake shit is so annoying
  9. Hahaha yea it went a bit further nw but by then it weakened. Looks like it dropped 2-3 inches before moving nw of detroit. Nickle, diming, and dusting to the avg. Can't wait for Josh to turd polish our winter in april saying he grades this winter an A since we reached our average, not mentioning that we didnt have one 6 inch storm, and if we do, it'll take 24 hours to get those 6 inches.
  10. What's up Josh. Don't have as much time anymore, but when things get interesting, I'll stop in.
  11. If Stefon diggs or josh Allen hurt themselves innocuously (think thumb for Goff or blown out knee for diggs making a simple cut like the hurricanes QB D’riq King made the other night) and all hopes of a SB are gone. The extra home game is A) not what it used to be due to low fan numbers allowed and the Steelers probably will not get past the first round anyways. I can’t listen anymore to any one wanting that 2 seed: the risks FAR outweigh the rewards.
  12. Meh. Marginal airmass with the ull over Josh Allen’s crib...nothing to see SW of BDL.
  13. All finished here. Guessing around 1.5”. I’ll take it all things considered. Correction, right at 2” Josh pic
  14. Looks good for you Josh. I don't think we see any flakes here for at least 2+ weeks. I also don't see enough cold air in long range for possibly longer than that. At least Lake Erie will stay warm.
  15. Thanks Josh, was wondering when this thread was coming. This year has been brutal but we look to have our first real LES event here in WNY. First call from KBUF.
  16. Never went to the Plains this year for chasing, as there was basically nothing to chase. Saw 8 tornadoes this year, all in Iowa and Illinois. I saw about 25ish waterspouts along the Great Lakes during a record-breaking waterspout season. This includes a waterspout with a rain and snow falling. Severe season locally was relatively dead this year...again. A moderate risk on June 10th failed to produce much. The most impressive storm was a single cell storm that had a downburst with winds of 60-70mph. I spent a week cleaning storm damage with the City of Royal Oak in their DPS parks and forestry department (my job). I covered a ton of lakeshore flooding events this year. January 11th in Chicago, March 6th in NW IN and SW MI, April 13th in SW MI, April 26th in N OH, November 1st in W MI, and November 15th also in W MI. The November 15th event was pretty intense with some of the most consistent big waves lashing the Grand Haven lighthouse that I’ve seen. The March 6th event was particularly intense in New Buffalo and did substantial damage to the beach park. There were a couple 6”+ snowstorms imby in the early part of the year (January 18th and February 25th-26th). An intense LES band from Lake Michigan dropped a few inches of snow quickly here on February 8th. Winter lingered right into May with accumulating snow early on Mother’s Day. So far in the winter of 2020-21, it’s been a zzzzfest with a 42hr 3.7” event being the biggest “storm”. Josh mentioned here the unusually long-lasting and vibrant fall colors. Boy were they great this year. Best I’ve seen in years. I spent every weekend in October going somewhere to take pictures of the fall colors. By far the biggest and most impactful event I saw was the Sanford and Edenville Dam failures. I originally went to Saginaw Bay on the 18th for lakeshore flooding, but a couple FFW for dams caught my attention and I went to the Secord Dam and saw unusually high discharge rates. I figured I needed to head back up this way the next day since major flooding was predicted on the Tittabawassee. I came back on the 19th to find significant flooding ongoing in Midland already. I then traveled to Sanford where Sanford Park was completely underwater. Some homes and businesses were taking on water at that point. I then moved to Edenville and Wixom Lake where numerous homes were under a few feet of water. It was at this time when disaster struck and the Edenville Dam collapsed. There were multiple people observing the record flooding near me when everyone’s wireless emergency alert went off alerting about the failure of the Edenville Dam. I raced south to Sanford to capture some of the ensuing chaos and evacuation, before evacuating to Freeland. The next day, the 20th, I started in downtown Midland where record flooding was ongoing. I saw some wildlife sadly swept down the river. The flooding in Midland was very impressive. I was in constant contact with TWC getting video out this entire time, as well as all the other major news networks through LSM. After getting everything I needed in Midland, I went to Sanford. The town had been effectively destroyed. When the Edenville Dam broke, it sent a torrent downstream that was too much for the Sanford Dam to hold. The Sanford Dam overtopped and then fully failed, with most of the earthen dam collapsing. A lot of homes in Sanford were completely wiped away off their foundations. Downtown Sanford was destroyed as well, with a few buildings leveled and the rest gutted by the flood. It was the worst flooding disaster since the great 1986 flood in Michigan, and honestly I’d put the May 2020 flood at the number 1 spot for worst Michigan floods. The Tittabawassee flood gauge in Midland broke the all-time record crest from 1986 by over a foot. It is a combination of luck and great evacuation procedures from EM and first responders that there were no fatalities or serious injuries. There’s other events locally that I’m sure I’m missing, but it was a relatively boring year. The lightning locally was better than last year I guess. Hopefully 2021 delivers more excitement, but with less destruction from dam failures. Forgive me for the long post with 15 pics haha, ended up being longer than I’d thought it’d be.
  17. Awesome pictures Josh, the fresh snow really helps makes them look good. Side note this December looks and feels way different then last year to me. Last year we were mountain biking December 23rd, this year it’s been chilly and we’ve had enough snow to make it definitely feel like December to me. I saw 17 degrees this morning and some really think freezing fog also. Last weekend while up north it was a awesome winter weekend also.
  18. You and Josh are ween-ing all over the place tonight. You are following an unreliable model which is rarely ever considered in the meteorology world, it's simply looked at. The upper-levels don't mean as much because the cyclone is steered by the mid-levels. However, so far on the 0z NAM, and 0z HRRR we can see there's been somewhat of a de-amplification with lower heights and that could be because of the recon data coming in. If that trend continues we'll see ticks SE. So that's where the upper-levels can have some significance. The mesos are better at picking up short-term mid-level amplification and so far the RGEM, and 3k NAM see an amplification in the mid-level forcing which is steering the cyclone further north, that should not be ignored. I still believe mixing is somewhat likely from Philly into the City.
  19. yeah check out the dumper on josh's tree
  20. We've had this discussion many times. Only system snow gets my motor running. A true weather weenie would never take our climate over the northeast. I still dont get your obsession with crusty, yellow snowcover. I usually browse the site once a week in the winter. Nobody else will call you out on your turd polishing posts so I logged in lol. Everytime the northeast is about to get a good storm, you turd polish our awesome climate. It grinds my gears.I enjoyed these weather forums for awhile but the arrogance of the likes of the almighty weather god chicago storm and a few others turned me off. Hope all is well with you and i wish you good health josh ❤.
  21. Its been a minute since I posted on here but what a better time than to respond to a josh polishing detroit turd winter post. Its a famine climate in SEMI, where you'll be lucky to get one 10+ plus storm each winter. I think everyone on this board would give up the couple 4-8' yearly storms, perhaps go snow less 2-3 consecutive winters, in return for that 24' plus storm. Kudos to you for still getting excited for 3-6' storm. I'd guess youre one of the few. Its okay to admit the northeast is the place to be for the ultimate snow weenie.
  22. Josh, that looks like an old Coca-Cola Santa.
  23. They haven’t been shown on the telly here in this area much, but they look pretty darn good tonight. It’s been said already, but Josh Allen is the real deal.
