  1. I’m glad I read through this thread before I responded to him because this was my exact thought. It’s not like a switch is flipped on certain days and the weather can’t bleed one way or the other.
  2. When we were there in the summer of 2017, it was one of the warmest June’s in over 40 years. I swear we are the only family to go to the UK for vacation and come back with sun burns. The day we left London was 90+. We touched down in Iceland and it was misty and upper 40’s and it never felt so good.
  3. Thanks. Unfortunately, I don't have any other Premier League fans in my office anymore to cheer with or gloat over so I have to take my chances when I can. Have fun on your tripo
  4. No doubt. That year was worse and so was 15/16. 05/06 was worse too. This one has been below average in some respects but I’ve had snow in my yard since November 12, though it got down to patches at least once. It hasn’t been able build deep pack or sustain cold temps so some winter activities have been hampered.
  5. I remember many, many -30s in Canaan, Island Pond and other NEK spots in the 70’s & 80’s. -32 at IP this morning.
  6. Yikes. I just saw a post on a sled FB site saying the same thing happened to them on Rt. 16 in Ossipee, NH. It’s the law here in VT. Glad you’re ok.
  7. It has been a spectacular day. You can really tell how snow starved we had been. I don’t know the last time I saw so many people on snowmobile trails. Not just speeders either, skiers, snowshoers and people just out for a walk.
  8. Agree. Didn’t he have the most famous melt ever that was then followed by the huge 100” in 30 days stretch?
  9. We live in a beautiful place.
  10. Nice pics below. I live in Barre and work in Montpelier at the Attorney General’s office. Montpelier is a neat town. A couple of good restaurants. Pretty much shuts down after 5:00 and on weekends when all of us state employees go home.
  11. Beautiful night for a snowmobile ride. The moon is gorgeous. Wish my picture did it justice.
  12. Capital Plaza? I work across the street.
  13. I can’t believe your boss made you work until 5:30. What a slave driver!
  14. Watch out for drifting and white outs on your way up. The high elevation on I-89 between exits 3 and 7 can get particularly bad.
  15. Hopefully you’re here already Fozz. The roads are not good.
  16. >100%<125% tolerable >125%<150% managable >150%<175% meh >175%<200% ok >200% good
  17. I'm glad that I'm not the only having a hard time describing what has been coming out of the sky. Similar to you, we have a pretty thick crust but no glazing to speak of.
  18. Everything had stopped by the time I came out of the gym half an hour ago. About 3.5” with a crust.
  19. Because of the hate and/or lack of interest in the main thread, I figured I'd post some expected storm total charts here.
  20. You may have passed me somewhere between Bangor and Augusta Sunday afternoon. I saw a couple trucks with Mass plates and sleds in back fly by.
  21. 330 to Millinocket from here and just over 6 hours. It’s a bitch going East/West in NNE. I generally ride from home. Can even do that now, though it’s a bit scratchy until you get a little higher up in elevation. Early and late season I can trailer to a great parking lot 20 minutes away and for the very end or earliest start about an hour and a half up to the NEK.
  22. It really is a beautiful area. I read Thoreau's Maine Woods when I was young and really loved it. For any number of reason's I never did that exploring it made me dream of. This trip really rekindled my interest in that area.
