I might trailer a bit north as well Saturday. I got a new to me sled. 2017 900 ACE Blizzard. 3200 miles on it and I paid $4800.

Some areas are doing well but not the majority. Every time we start building a base, it gets knocked back. I’m near 40” on the season but haven’t gotten to 10” otg at any point. It’s been below normal in terms of snowpack. In fact, I bet even the mountains are only doing well north of I-89.

Was up in Essex playing golf at a friend’s simulator and we got a squall warning. Left around 4:30 and there was a few dipping spots blowing around and we joked about the “deadly squall”. Dropped my friend of at his house and hit 89 south. Found the squall between Richmond and Bolton Flats. Almost white out conditions at times but by the time I got to JSpin’s area it had almost stopped. Everything was clear until about Exit 8. Heavy snow going up the hill towards Exit 7. Could see maybe a tenth of a mile, slowed down to 40 and crawled up the hill. Between Exit 7 and all the way down the Exit 6 access road there white out or near whit out conditions. Some of the toughest snow driving conditions I’ve had in a while. More snow with this than the junk that fell last night. Had another round an hour or so ago.

I didn’t mean anything other than to note the big differences over a relatively short distance. Like PF always says, orographics and microclimates are so fascinating.

I cleaned up the driveway Monday night but left what fell afterwards. I didn't even get the snowblower out, just used the snow scoop.

I was in Waterbury for the December 19th storm. I was sitting in a conference room at the State Office Complex and the wind was so strong it was pushing water into the room around the window seals. I would not call that "minimal damage" to the snow pack. Outside the mountains, it pretty much set us back to bare ground.

One more thing, in Vermont, you can request the trail be curfewed and have it posted for speed.

The first thing is that we always defer to the landowner. You can definitely ask the club to move it to a different location on your land. The would much prefer that than having to completely re-route around your property. Re-routes can be expensive and difficult but it happens all the time. Talk to the club and see if you can find something that works better for you. In the end, you have every right to not have the trail on your property but that doesn’t always make you friends locally.

Alright my skiing friends, I’ve been going down a ski resort ranking video rabbit hole. Peak Rankings videos on YouTube. I’ve done Jay Peak, Stowe, Sugarbush and a couple of overall ones. I’ve never been a skier but I’ve always been fascinated by it. I keep thinking I should try some sort of beginner package but at 57 it may not be wise.

@dryslot @WinterWolfDo you guys remember any of these from the old days? I went to a vintage show today. 170 entries. My back hurts just looking at them!
