The first time I went to PGA event tempo was driven home to me. I went to the Greater Hartford Open and was standing behind the 13th tee, close enough to almost grab the club in their backswing. The hole is a par 5 and the steady tempo really stood out. None of the players looked like they were swinging hard and were putting the ball 300+ yards Smooth tempo is so important. Now if I could just follow that mantra consistently.

Me too. I haven't ridden once this year despite the fact that I was given a season cart pass. I don't scoff at riders but I generally prefer walking and there are exceptions. If I'm playing in a tournament and it's slow, I like having the cart. If I'm playing a course I'm unfamiliar with, I like having a cart so I can ride up and take a look at what I'm hitting towards if it's unclear.

The problem wasn't really with the amount of snow, it was with retention. That's my weather fetish. I'll take nickle and dime events all winter long, I just don't want to lose any of it along the way.

Pretty much the same with me. Reed is the other current guy I don't like. I've never had an issue with Ian Poulter though many don't like him. Back in the day I never had a problem with Nick Faldo and like him as an announcer. I never cared for Vijay Singh either.

I'd say character related. The thing is, there are tons of obnoxious jerks on the Tour. In fact, you could argue that you need to be pretty self -centered to make it there to begin with. It just seems like he is a notch above the the average jerk.

I have apparently forgotten how to play golf. Was awful off the tee and with my irons tonight but thought to myself "At least my putting is ok". Then I 4 putt from less than 20 feet. I may need to take a break.

I have all Ryobi battery tools including a 10" chainsaw that works pretty well. I'm lucky that the closest gas station to me has non-ethanol premium and that's what I put in the lawnmower.

Nice. I've thought about going that way. Takes about an hour and a half to mow my lawn but was never sure about how long the battery lasts.

I was 2-3 years old living in FL for 70-71 but I experienced 07-08 in all of it's glory. I'll take that any day.

That is a good deal. I prefer to walk and haven't taken a cart once this year. The caveat is that I don't mind taking a cart if I am playing an unfamiliar course. It allows you to check out the lay of the land and get a better understanding of where you can miss safely.

I shot a 43 last night. Drove the ball decently but my putting was pitiful. 2 three putts. 18 total putts for 9 holes and that was only because I chipped in on the 7th hole.

GPS carts are cool, to a point. I was playing in a tournament once and we were waiting for the group ahead of us and the pro shop sent us a message telling us we were behind and would have to skip a home if we didn’t catch up. We were already waiting on every hole. I have a golf gps watch now so I don’t need the gps info, of course I almost exclusively walk anyway. They are nice for courses though because they can restrict where carts are allowed to go and even put speed limits in certain areas.

Played a relaxing 9 tonight. Shot a 42 with an awful 3 putt double. Other than that to only dark spot was the hellacious mosquito attack I suffered on the 7th green and 8th tee box. Beautiful night to be out other than that.

I haven’t been to the farm in quite a few years. I always liked the last 3 holes. That course was designed by Geoffrey Cornish, who also designed the Killington Mt course. My understanding is that it was originally supposed to be an 18 hole course.

Did you see Brady sink that shot from the fairway for birdie? Barkley was ragging on him and he dunked it. Pretty funny.

89 for me this morning. Made $7 or $8 so it was a good day. The guys I play with are slow though. Luckily it wasn’t busy so we only had to let a twosome play through but it drives me nuts. I like these guys and have fun with them but they are slow. At least when the course is busy the pick up the pace some but 5 hour rounds drive me nuts.
