  1. I’m usually pretty happy to have this much snow on the ground on February 27, for March 27 it’s pretty rare. I’m at 1200’ but driving up the hill it gets deep after 1500’ or so as PF pointed out.
  2. Took my last snowmobile ride of the season last night. Beautiful night to be out. Clear and cold. Tons and tons of snow. I got sucked off the trail and stepped of into snow that was between my waist and chest deep. I too am now ready to move on from winter.
  3. Somewhere between Norton and Holland Vermont 1500'-1600' or so
  4. I think he is saying that with the current combo, only sublimation is going to work on the snow. Like you said, given the same temp but with a higher dew point, snow would melt quicker.
  5. We trailered yesterday but as I was driving past freshly groomed trails at 6:30 I sort of wished I had just left from home.
  6. The NEK got absolutely slammed this last storm. Some groomer reports of 30". You know what that leads to though, big bumps. I imagine today and tomorrow will be pretty near perfect as those clubs are still grooming.
  7. I think I'm done too. A friend is trying to get me to play hooky tomorrow but I'm ready to move on. 1300 miles this year and yesterday was a pretty nice note to end on.
  8. I switched quite a few years ago and still occasionally listen to the Fan. I used to love listen to AM radio at night. Given the right atmospheric conditions could bounce you stations from quite a distance. I remember listening to Cleveland Indian games and very rarely picking up KMOX from St. Louis.
  9. Didn't Cheetah live in Billerica?
  10. Went up to the NEK to snowmobile yesterday. They got pummeled with snow, over 2' in some areas. We parked at the state park beach in Island Pond and rode up to Norton on the Canadian border. It was a beautiful day to be outside.
  11. I was a bit surprised to wake up to almost 1" this morning. The late news didn't think there would really be any accumulation as far south as Barre/Montpelier. Memorial Drive, the road from Exit 8 to Montpelier, was glare ice this morning. A woman in front of me tried to stop at a red light and did a 360° spin out into the median. She was ok but looked a little shook up.
  12. Before I started listening to radio over my phone, I could generally pick up WFAN here 90% of the time. I always fall to sleep with the radio on and that was my go to station. Remember though, for most of its life WFAN was the Mets home station. I think WABC was the Yankees but I could be wrong about that.
  13. I’ve seen reports of 28” in Canaan. I’m heading to Island Pond tomorrow to ride. One of the trails tops out at 2700’ or so. It’ll be interesting to see how much there is.
  14. Used to be about 50/50 Sox/Yanks up here when I was growing up. It’s much more Sox now. Same with Canadiens/Bruins buts that’s shifted towards Boston now. There is still some Giants support too. For a time in the 50’s or 60’s they had a training camp in Burlington. Now it’s mainly Pats as the older fans that remember die off.
  15. Not sure about there. I’m 20 miles east and have over 12”
  16. Glad you made it home safely. The crushing has been going on over here up through the NEK and over through Alex.
  17. It was pretty intense for a good part of the morning in Montpelier. I work in the Pavilion Building and my window looks out at the new Taylor Street building. There were times this morning when the hillside across the river disappeared. I live at 1250’ in Barre Town and would estimate we got a similar amount to you. I posted a picture of my back deck in the storm thread.
  18. Good luck. 89 was shut down at exit 8, southbound today during the height of the storm. Several accidents and trucks that couldn’t climb the hill towards Berlin. As soon as a car drove on this stuff it packed down to ice and the rates at the time were too heavy for plows to keep up with, you saw the MPV odds. Even the sidewalks in Montpelier were atrocious. When it let up, the interstate cleared relatively quickly because it was 31-32 degrees.
  19. There is enough that I postponed riding until Sunday. Give some time for the clubs to groom and also for me to dig out.
  20. If I were to guess, 8”-10” here at home. That sort matches up with that map. Lots of compaction
  21. I remember his son coming on and reporting that he had a stroke but I don't recall anything else.
