  1. Fairly dry up here too. 12% at KMPV
  2. One thing I’ve come to appreciate about working at home the last couple of days is having the windows open. My office is typical, sealed windows, HVAC system. It’s nice working with the windows open and smell of fresh cut grass wafting through. Will probably suck with no central AC when the HHH arrives.
  3. I liked seeing them carry too. I have a push cart but prefer to carry. Played 9 tonight. Beautiful night to be out. Didn’t play well.
  4. I remember ash falling even here. It was surreal. Volcanos didn’t blow in America, those happen on tropic islands.
  5. Me too. I've always felt the best golf weather is overcast and 70. Just more comfortable that way
  6. There has got to be someplace that gets shadowed by the Whites that sucks, relatively. We know places like Whitefield and Lancaster are relative snowholes but that is in town. The higher elevations are decent I believe.
  7. Now that's a standard first round. I was thinning shots, not to point of topping them but I'm sure that's soon to come. Did anyone catch the Titleist Skins game from Seminole yesterday? It was ok. That Matt Wolff guy seemed pretty nervous playing with Fowler, McIlroy and D.J. on national TV. He has quite the swing. Seminole looked nice but it must be better in person to receive all the accolades it does.
  8. Satellite isn't very good either. Slow and impacted by weather. I think NH is better than VT with cell reception but once you get outside town in either state access to high speed internet becomes an issue. Here in VT a couple of consortium's have been created by towns to get fiber optic service to small towns. It's a slow process but has worked.
  9. Many people have died on that cross up here over the years.
  10. Played my first round today after not having swung a club since last season ended in October. It was like a spaghetti western, the good, the bad and the ugly. I ended the round with a 20’ putt to save par in 18 and ended up winning $7 or $8 on the day which is a good day with stakes we play for. The most important thing to come out of the day is that I didn’t hurt myself. That’s always a huge accomplishment for the first tome out.
  11. Lol I was thinking the same thing. They are smart enough to know where the insects are and they’re hammering away on the wood siding, hmmmmm.
  12. Speaking of wildlife. Had a porcupine in my backyard yesterday. Waddled over for the neighbors and then climbed up a big tree and sat there the rest of the day. Gone this morning.
  13. Ivory-billed. It's a miracle
  14. Wind stayed up for a good portion of the night. When it went calm at MPV they dropped to 31°. Up to 41° now
  15. Is the damned wind going to stop? Looks beautiful outside, sunny with blue skies. And then you notice the trees swaying back and forth and a temp of 42°.
  16. It's comforting in these unprecedented chaotic and turbulent times that we can still count on our regular temp/dew/ACATT back and forths to bring a sense of normalcy and stability.
  17. Wind stayed up a little for a good part of the night here but the temp dropped to 27° when it went calm.
  18. If I hadn't been away from work most of today, the drive would not put me off. I enjoy road trips. Probably would gas up before I left, sanitized myself and then not stopped until I got to the course, waved at Runnaway from a socially acceptable distance, stayed an acceptable distance from him the entire round (mainly because my ball would be in the rough/woods/adjacent fairways most of the time) got back in my car drive straight home and then immediately hop in a tub of sanitizer, which would sting many areas. All in the name of fun!
  19. Walked our course with the new owner and new pro today showing them around. Other than brutal wind and sub-40° temps, it was gorgeous. Unfortunately I am no longer in the position of being able to offer free golf to people or the invite would have been there. Here is a link to our, soon to be their website. https://www.northfieldcountryclub.com/
  20. If only I could make the drive
  21. The views of the Spine and the Worcester Range from 89 were spectacular today. I wish I could have taken a picture
  22. Wish we had the middle finger emoji to respond to posts like these.
  23. Other than a few oddballs, I think most of us truly like seasons in season. I like variability, for the most part so I wouldn't want three straight months of HHH but it can be enjoyable. For the record, I wouldn't want year round winter either.
  24. This is Exit 7 on I-89 on the hill above Montpelier
