  1. Over 1” here on the deck rail. Light snow now.
  2. On the eve of the torch that may signal the beginning of the end of winter. It’s the winter that just wants to snow.
  3. I agree. The melts we had weren’t the horrendous melt the pack out types we’ve had the last two February’s. The longevity and the density of snow has been what’s really impressive. Though the depth is pretty impressive too in many areas. As I write this on the eve of the big torch that is likely signaling the beginning of the end of winter, it’s snowing at a pretty good rate again.
  4. Just came back from Williston, you can hardly tell it snowed last night and this morning. The sun today vaporized anything that didn’t fall on a snowy surface.
  5. Lol, I’ve had calls from Tesla every month since November asking me if my WiFi hookup is working since they aren’t registering anything. Each time I have to tell them they’re under 2’ of snow.
  6. Looked like 3"-4" at home and still snowing when I left. Pretty high fluff factor after the dense stuff that was falling earlier yesterday.
  7. I have a question for your extensive Bolton knowledge. I was up at lodge Friday evening for a birthday gathering. I hadn't been there for years. I know that there are extensive property holdings, nearly 3,000 acres if I remember correctly. Do they not own the land to the left (NW, I think) of the hotel? It seems they could have some nice runs in that area or is that part of the back country area?
  8. Take a look at this Facebook post. I know this guy and he is a very serious snowmobiler. He was riding the north shore during that last big storm. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=555194668318246&id Some good pictures. His handle is The Snow Traveller.
  9. The north shore of the St. Lawrence gets pummeled again. Those folks seem to be having a banner year
  10. I was on that elevation north of Mansfield but south of Jay yesterday. All I know is that it’s effin’ deep.
  11. We did 150 miles Friday, 65 Saturday, 40 Sunday and 140 yesterday. Trails were great with plenty of snow.
  12. I was up that way yesterday and indeed it was snowing over Jay. For much of the day we could see that it was snowing up high along the Spine. We never got into it but seeing snow is always nice.
  13. Took this picture yesterday. I was trying to get a shot of the giant wind turbines on the ridgeline above Lowell and Albany but the IPhone doesn't really have a good telephoto option. I can't really explain out enormous they are.
  14. Pffffffffft! 4-7 with lollies to 10” he’s never that reasonable, unless consensus is a rainer.
  15. Took a 140 mile snowmobile jaunt through the northern Greens today. Left Morrisville went to Newport and then back. Lots of snow and it was snowing at Jay, as seen below.
  16. It's even blown over to downtown Montpelier from time to time. Just had a snow shower roll through here.
  17. My traditional corner turning date is March 15th. This year seems like we are already past that date as our snowpack started earlier than usual.
  18. Looks like they will be getting some snow down south, which is good. Meanwhile, I spent a good part of the weekend enjoying what we already have. The first two were taken in the Groton State Forest not to far from me. The last one was taken near Island Pond, VT Lots of snow up there and really just about all of VT east of the CPV. I'd like a few small refreshers to make sure the season goes for a few more weeks. I guess there aren't any big warm-ups in the immediate future so we should get past my self-imposed cut-off date of March 15th, usually by then I'm ready for the snow to start giving way to fairways and greens.
  19. It’s one of the fastest growing cities in the country.
