  1. Lol, I though it was a beat up old tennis ball.
  2. I was in Death Valley 2 years ago last week. 119f was all we could manage
  3. That’s one of the reasons the State and town road crews try to reduce salt usage on roads. It damages vegetation including trees.
  4. Watching the US Am from Bandon Dunes in Oregon. What a beautiful course. Closest thing to true links golf in America. I love links courses and this one I beautiful.
  5. Do they have lead or maybe plastic tees? That's abut what my handicap could handle.
  6. Interest rates are the reason we chose to finance our recent appliance purchases from Home Depot. Interest free for 24 months. I'll use someone else's money for free for the next 2 years. Just make sure to pay them off within that time or they will hit you with the entire amount of interest the day after the interest free period ends.
  7. So expect records heat to continue?
  8. I loved my MIL but the prospect of spending a week at her place would of had me doing anything possible to keep our electricity.
  9. I've always been a Black Sabbath fan
  10. Ok, so that wasn't just me. I got to the golf course about the time you posted this. I was thinking it was going to be a bit miserable but it wasn't all that bad, even walking.
  11. Natural gas delivery isn't impacted by electrical outages. If you have a gas stove I would think that you would be able use that too. Unless the electronic ignition runs on electricity
  12. What a final round by Morikawa. This is only his second major. Pretty fun final round overall. I live it when they have majors on the west coast. You get to watch more in tv.
  13. 6 players tied for the lead at -9. Should be an interesting final round.
  14. Shot an 89 to finish 2 strokes back in my flight. Other than a disastrous 9 on the 6th hole, I played ok. Going into the tournament with zero expectations certainly helps.
  15. That’s the rule. We had to have food at the golf course in order to sell booze.
  16. Shot an uneven 85 in the first round of my club championship today. 48 on the front and 37 on the back. I really only had 3 or 4 bad swings on the front that put me in trouble that I struggled recovering from and I missed a couple of putts between 3 and 5 feet. Overall I didn’t feel I hit the ball terribly. The back 9 things really started clicking. I started hitting the ball better and started making some putts. I parred the first 5 holes on the back and was maybe 2 feet of missed putts away from being 3 under. I went into this tournament with no expectations, just hoping to see some progress. Needless to say, I was happy to put things together for at least 9 holes.
  17. I was wondering the same thing. Not that I ever practice but as long as you observe social distancing etc. you can go chip and putt around.
  18. Anyone else concerned about Will not being able to remember the exact date of a weather event?
  19. I remember that too. There are so many old roads up here that were never formally abandoned by towns. They are interesting and fun to explore, when you do it appropriately, not in the middle of winter in you expensive, low ground clearance Lexus with summer tires.
  20. VT has all sorts of roads like that. Google and other GPS services don't treat Class IV roads any differently than year round roads. The number of people who end up stuck on what become snowmobile trails in winter is pretty large. They are usually following the route set out by their GPS.
  21. Who’da thunk it was a bad idea to have a fireworks factory so close to a residential area?
  22. Laughing at the “Jerry treated some” line, not at the tragedy itself.
  23. I think I've lost power for less than half a day total in the 21 years I've lived here. Of course, I'm around the corner from a substation so that helps. If I was building a house and was just going to tack the $5K onto the mortgage when I was done it would be a no-brainer. I just haven't had enough issues with power to worry about it.
