  1. John’s Weather is or was a great website that had great obs in that area. I think he’s gone now though. They’ve got be 200” a year. Snowmobiling hot bed.
  2. We saw snow on the ground pretty much right down to the river on our ride. Very little around Wells River/Woodsville but more closer to Littleton.
  3. We turned north on Easton Valley Rd. which is about 10 miles East from 302. It’s a beautiful area and a pretty twisty road for a new driver.
  4. I wanted to but my son said he wasn’t hungry.
  5. By the way, I think I found the flooded yard where Stein drowned in Orange, VT. This is usually a small stream.
  6. Took a mini snow tour this afternoon. Drove northeast from my house over to eastern NH. Started seeing remnants of snow in Topsham and Groton, VT and even saw some still on the ground in Wells River which is right on the Connecticut. From Woodsville, NH we took 112 over towards Lincoln. It didn’t take that long to start seeing more snow. Instead of going all the way to Lincoln we took the road to Franconia and then looped back through Sugar Hill down to Rt. 302 and then home. There was still snow on the ground as we went through Lisbon around 1:30. My wife thinks I’m a bit nuts taking random drives to look at snow. It’s much easier now to say I’m taking my son driving so he can get his required hours in.
  7. Agree. It makes things a little more inconvenient. It sucks setting up snowmobile trails in the snow. Give me more days like yesterday to get things done.
  8. Not garbage time but there comes a time when I like to move on to warm season pursuits.
  9. We just drove through some pretty good rain and impressive lightning on 89 through Brookfield. It was my son’s first time driving in heavy rain. He did well. I felt the car hit a couple of puddles and semi-hydroplane. He handled it well.
  10. I saw the warnings but I’m not home. Saw what looks like some big lighting towards that area though.
  11. I figured I must have missed something because I thought the low was only supposed to be around 35-4°-35°. 28° was a little surprising when I woke up. Looks like MPV got down to 26° and even BTV got in on the act, checking in with 30°
  12. I just assume the radar is missing stuff in eastern VT. You can see it being blocked by the spine and shooting through the Winooski Valley gap towards Montpelier. I always thought MPV would be a great radar site.
  13. A friend of my wife's told her it was snowing in Williamstown earlier. Not sure I believe it though I guess some graupel is possible
  14. The tree that almost hit my house was a rotten old birch.
  15. It's been legal for a couple of years, you just couldn't buy it or give it as a gift. All you could do was grow your own.
  16. Hmmm, a quick 9 holes later this afternoon might not be all that pleasant.
  17. Ended up with .62" at MPV. The pattern has changed. It may still be dry in south of here but there is no doubt that things have changed.
  18. Just had a tree come down and miss the house by about 6”. Scared the bejesus out of us. Looks like it was punky partway up the trunk

  20. When I was about 11 years old, I decided that I would surprise my dad and clean up after a BBQ without being asked. I dumped the grill contents into the garbage can inside of the attached garage. We were then sitting on the porch talking to a neighbor, ironically about a series of fires that had recently been set in the area. The neighbor says he smells smoke we rush down and sure enough the garbage can was ablaze right next to the 77 Buick Electra. We put it out before any damage could happen but needless to say my dad was not overly happy and I learned to be very sure that all coals were completely out when cleaning the grill.
  21. Definitely worth the drive in the off season.
