  1. It does suck and I feel sometimes like your damned if you do and damned if you don't. You plug along and try to make the right decisions knowing there is little margin for error. I'm glad I'm not the one who has to make those decisions.
  2. I'm not sure of the R0 for my county but for the state it's at .88. Obviously ours is lower than that as it is heavily weighted by Chittenden County. The state does have a decent dashboard and they send out a daily update. https://www.healthvermont.gov/response/coronavirus-covid-19/current-activity-vermont
  3. We like going to Littleton. World's largest candy counter at Chutter's. Home Depot and Lowes. Traffic isn't nearly as bad as Burlington or W.Leb
  4. Some people think we are being too cautious, I wonder myself at times. But, like I said, I think we have done ok and don't want to change that now.
  5. Our county has had 47 cases and 2 deaths. I know what you're trying to say but I also see that, as a state, we have done ok and I am fine with our cautious approach.
  6. Just got our notice about school for this year. The district is offering a choice between completely remote learning or a hybrid model. The hybrid model has kids going to half days of classes 2 days per week and remote learning the other 3 days. Kids with last names that start with A-K will attend school in-person on Monday and Thursday while L-Z will attend school in-person on Tuesday and Friday. It isn't perfect but I think they are doing the best they can with the situation they've been handed. https://www.buusd.org/covid-19/reopening
  7. Lol. If any fruit or vegetables start going bad, that's what I do too.
  8. I think you're correct. Our old system was run from our oil fired boiler and had a large super insulated storage tank. The tank sprung a leak so we had to get a new one. I would have loved an on demand system but we don't have propane and I couldn't see installing it just for a new water heater.
  9. Not really. It has decreased humidity and hasn't had a huge impact on our electricity bills.
  10. No plans set in concrete yet. School openings have all been pushed back until September 8th as plans get finalized. My son will be a junior in high school and I suspect it will be something like in person 2 days a week and online the other 3.
  11. Wish they still filmed Northwoods Law in Maine. Would love to see your pontoon boat pulled over with a bunch of AMWX weenies on board.
  12. More progress tonight after last week’s lesson. Shot a 43 with a disastrous 7 on a par 3. I feel like I am starting hit the ball more consistently. Posture, ball position and shoulder turn have been what I have been keying on. It’s only been a week and 36 holes of actual play so I know I still have a lot to work on but it feels like I’m on the road to real improvement.
  13. We installed one of those new heat pump hybrid water heaters a couple of years ago and that thing does a great job dehumidifying the basement. It is like 2-3 times as efficient as a standard electric water heater and it doesn't require us to run our boiler in the summer like the old system we had.
  14. Like I said, it's my favorite lake in the state and it's the deepest. I've snowmobiled on it in winter but it feels a bit creepy standing over 300' of water. There is a nude beach there too. I think it's on the south end. Edit to add: It's a pretty cold lake too. I've gone swimming there on really hot days and you would swear the the glacier had just finished melting that morning.
  15. Lat night in a Zoom meeting for the State snowmobile association we were discussing how we could hold our annual meeting and one of the Board members started going off on wearing masks and how the Governor has no right to mandate masks without declaring martial law and that this isn't a pandemic. I told him that regardless of how he personally feels we still have to follow the rules on gathering size, social distancing, masks etc. He still seemed pretty po'd about the whole thing.
  16. Take a day trip over to Willoughby. It's my favorite lake. Absolutely stunning. Good hiking on the mountains on either side of the lake, Mt. Pisgah and Mt. Hor
  17. Was in Littleton Saturday at Home Depot and Lowes. Just about everyone was masked as both stores had signs saying it was required. Still some holdouts though. Vermont's mandate starts August 1st.
  18. Stiff shaft for higher swing speeds. I’ve never had a high enough swing speed to need one. Whenever I’ve hit one the ball goes almost straight right.
