  1. Record for June and 1 degree off the all time record.
  2. Deck staining is next on the list after we install my new kitchen cabinets this week.
  3. We drove through it yesterday. Downpour in Montpelier and the interstate was wet all the way until just before exit 6. Then the road was wet again part way down the access road and in South Barre all the way up to about a half mile before my house. These storms have been truly hit or miss.
  4. Was about to say that we have missed everything at my house but just looked out and my deck is slightly wet. Thunder all around for the last hour or so. Yesterday, the rain stopped less than a half mile away.
  5. About 25 years ago, a softball player got killed like that. Blue skies overhead when she was struck.
  6. Not commenting on this lady but I’ve seen people ignore thunder and stay in the course or get mad when the horn blows calling them off the course. It’s stupid.
  7. Took a ride this afternoon over to A&W in Middlebury. Root beer floats and car hop service. Really just an excuse for an old fashioned Sunday drive. Watched the temp drop to 77 at the top of Roxbury Mt. and down through Granville Gulf. Went over Middlebury Gap past the Snow Bowl and down to Rt.7. It was 91 in Middlebury. Back over the spine through the App Gap, 75 up there. Ran into some heavy downpours in Montpelier and it had rained all the way up to about a half mile from my house. Bone dry at home. At least my wife’s car had the pollen rinsed off.
  8. Is the pipe underground before it runs up the side of the house to the roof?
  9. Amen to that. If I wanted this crap, I would have moved back to S. Georgia when my parents and brother did 25 years ago.
  10. I was 2-3 years old living in FL for 70-71 but I experienced 07-08 in all of it's glory. I'll take that any day.
  11. That is a good deal. I prefer to walk and haven't taken a cart once this year. The caveat is that I don't mind taking a cart if I am playing an unfamiliar course. It allows you to check out the lay of the land and get a better understanding of where you can miss safely.
  12. Time to form an AMWX scramble team.
  13. I shot a 43 last night. Drove the ball decently but my putting was pitiful. 2 three putts. 18 total putts for 9 holes and that was only because I chipped in on the 7th hole.
  14. Nights like these in NNE are sublime. It just doesn’t get any better. As much as I love snow, I love these evenings too.
  15. Glad you didn't put No biting insects on that list.
  16. I think he could basically save that post and reuse it every year regarding severe. Our weather specialty in New England is drought obviously.
  17. A little rain would be nice. Other than that, it's all good.
  18. You can always chase this in your friend's father's hot tub.
  19. Much shorter for me, of course I'm older than you guys. 250 if I really catch it
  20. I've heard more bear reports this year than I can remember. I haven't seen one yet but a neighbor through the woods across the street, about a quarter mile away had three on his security cam the other week.
  21. What you'll learn is that the winter up here has additional metrics besides total snowfall in order to classify it as being good or not. For example, as you pointed out snowfall was ok but it was punctuated by some thaws that kept the snowpack from building up all that much. also, there wasn't really any sustained cold that locked stuff in. Lake and pond ice were pretty sketchy at times. For me and many other winter recreation enthusiasts, it was a so-so winter.
  22. When I was in high school, I raised chickens as Future Farmers of America project. They were pretty much free range during the day and put inside at night. One day I saw one impale a small frog with it's beak and eat it. They can be brutal.
  23. I wish cider doughnut time was year round.
