  1. VT has all sorts of roads like that. Google and other GPS services don't treat Class IV roads any differently than year round roads. The number of people who end up stuck on what become snowmobile trails in winter is pretty large. They are usually following the route set out by their GPS.
  2. Who’da thunk it was a bad idea to have a fireworks factory so close to a residential area?
  3. Laughing at the “Jerry treated some” line, not at the tragedy itself.
  4. I think I've lost power for less than half a day total in the 21 years I've lived here. Of course, I'm around the corner from a substation so that helps. If I was building a house and was just going to tack the $5K onto the mortgage when I was done it would be a no-brainer. I just haven't had enough issues with power to worry about it.
  5. Was sitting on the Statehouse lawn having lunch with a colleague and the breeze felt coolish. I had put my chair in the shade and thought maybe I should have out it in the sun for a brief minute.
  6. Lol, the good ole party balls. I remember the Coors light ones. Nasty I remember driving around with one behind the back seat in a hatchback. The spout was just a little to short to reach the driver's seat.
  7. My club championship this weekend. Going to throw in (away?) my $25 and give it a whirl. Since the PGA is on the west coast, I'll still be able to watch. Honestly, I don't mind watching golf without spectators. I really don't miss "In the hole!" after every tee shot.
  8. We used to get these with Genesee. I think it was just regular not the cream ale.
  9. 64° at MPV. That's what you get at hilltop ASOS
  10. That’s what I figured. The Lamoille seemed pretty high.
  11. Had to go t o Essex today and took the long way home, Rt.15 to Rt.108 through Smuggler's Notch. The rivers were pretty high, which surprised me a bit. Around here they were pretty low to begin with and it doesn't look like they got that much more rain than we did around here.
  12. That has got to bring back some awful memories for anyone who has lived in Beirut for a while.
  13. I listened to some of it on SiriusXM and watched the last few holes up until Koepka put it in the water on 17 or 18. I wish I had seen Thomas hit bridge and make it over.
  14. People in VT do not hate out of staters. Are some people jerks? Yes and you seem to know more than your share. I’m sorry you’ve had a bad experience but that’s your experience and not the entire story.
  15. Played in a pro-am at the Country Club of Vermont today. Beautiful course with great views. Played ok in spurts. The greens were fast and very hilly. The wind was pretty strong too. The picture below usually has a great view of Camel’s Hump but the clouds and mist were starting roll through.
  16. To be fair, the 5 game series they have to win to advance to the playoffs basically just replaces the end of the regular season for them. No matter who wins it all, there’ll be an asterisk on it. The NHL seems to have a good formula to start play again. MLB on the other hand...
  17. Nice to have playoff (sort of) hockey back. Go Habs!
  18. I wonder if I know her? I work for the Attorney General’s Office.
  19. It does suck and I feel sometimes like your damned if you do and damned if you don't. You plug along and try to make the right decisions knowing there is little margin for error. I'm glad I'm not the one who has to make those decisions.
  20. I'm not sure of the R0 for my county but for the state it's at .88. Obviously ours is lower than that as it is heavily weighted by Chittenden County. The state does have a decent dashboard and they send out a daily update. https://www.healthvermont.gov/response/coronavirus-covid-19/current-activity-vermont
  21. We like going to Littleton. World's largest candy counter at Chutter's. Home Depot and Lowes. Traffic isn't nearly as bad as Burlington or W.Leb
  22. Some people think we are being too cautious, I wonder myself at times. But, like I said, I think we have done ok and don't want to change that now.
  23. Our county has had 47 cases and 2 deaths. I know what you're trying to say but I also see that, as a state, we have done ok and I am fine with our cautious approach.
