I’ve lead a pretty tame life, let ‘em look. What’re they going to tar me with? The fact I don’t keep a DIT-like lawn? Or that I don’t measure snow as well as JSpin? I’d make a cabinet level position Snow Czar and have you traveling around the country ensuring ski areas are correctly snow reporting. Instead of a summer White House, I’d have a winter White House in Valdez. I’d get government scientists straight to developing a simple, affordable home snowmaking machine.

It’s up to 120 now. Apparently it was a guy who traveled and didn’t do any of the quarantine stuff when he came back and didn’t tell anyone when he wasn’t feeling well. They tie it more to car pooling and other interactions more than transmission while playing.

Odd feeling today. I generally never mourn the passing of snow this early, that’s what always happens. Today for some reason I felt like I do on a January thaw day, a little sad that it was leaving and looking for areas where the cold locked in a little.

Went for a walk on the Montpelier bike path this evening. It’s a nice change from the bike path across the street from my house and there are lights. I will say 23° felt pretty arcticy.

This is the best thing about working from home. We only had 4" so I probably wouldn't have shoveled anyway since it is going to melt soon but it will be nice not having to get up at 5:00 to clear the driveway. It will be really nice not having to drive on crappy roads with idiots running summer tires while driving 80 mph on ice too.

Different story, at least for me. I want tons of snow so all outdoor recreation option are on the table. An extended mud/stick season does no one any good up here. It’s not like with a crappy winter I can golf or a lot of other outdoor stuff. I don’t need vodka cold though.

Per my usual reports, as noted above, 27° on the car thermo on the way home from a meeting. Snowing hard when I left. I was right next to the runway at KMPV but haven’t checked their official obs to see what they had for visibility but my guess is 1/2 mile.

I’d chime in with the odd report now and then. “Looks like 3” or 4” on my deck” of the always popular “My car thermo read 27° when I came home from my meeting”. That’s the type of hard science I excel at.

Drove down 89 to Lebanon this afternoon and could see snow on the trails. Figured they were starting to blow on some of the trails.
