  1. Elevation definitely played a huge role around here...my new house is at @ 430 feet right on the border of Mahopac and Carmel and we barely got any slowflakes and zero coating of any kind.
  2. Good luck out there just to my west...this one is gonna be painful over here...will probably see zero accumulation here and at the same latitude not too far west will be seeing 6"+
  3. I really appreciate that. I wasn't able to send it to you via PM based on size so I sent it to your email that you have listed in your profile. Thanks!
  4. The cold air this morning made for some steam coming off the water at one of my favorite fishing spots for trout this time of year. *thanks to Juliancolton for taking the powerlines out!!!*
  5. Areas just to the west of Middletown had to have gotten double that today, no? It seems like yellow echoes have been parked over the Port Jervis area literally since this morning without moving.
  6. You've mentioned barely any snow at all south of 84 a few times now. NWS most recent map has me in 4-5 inches, and I am south of 84. Can you please reach out and make sure they correct their map so the public is not led astray? Thank you!
  7. That is only through 7am Friday...probably doesn't matter for NYC proper but for northern areas there may be additional beyond this.
  8. Hi...off topic, but I don't post here much mostly just read, but just was wondering if you knew there was a multi quote function. I always see you quote one at a time for like 10 posts in a row lol. Cheers
  9. Yep, exactly why I asked for pics. Every other report is higher than his...shocker
  10. You're right...I just looked and they don't allow ice fishing. Interesting, although from what I'm reading its out of season for trout up there anyway so probably not worth it anyway. Down here in Putnam the reservoirs are open for trout all season which are special regulations vs. the standard state regulations.
  11. I love it up there. My family used to do Lake George and this past summer we stayed on Mirror Lake at the Lake Placid Club Boathouse (just up the road from the brewery on the east shoreline) instead and IMO it sh*ts on Lake George. The fact that if you stay anywhere on the entire lake and can walk the whole thing is awesome. Are there many people ice fishing the lake right now? I've only been in the summer...dying to go up there in the winter, especially in the kind of storm you just got up there. Very jealous.
  12. Hey man. I am back in Mahopac. I know you always mention "up on the hill" and have always wondered to myself if any of Mahopac is at 1,000+. I've actually driven up to the top of Kings Ridge Rd. thinking that may be it, my elevation app registered just shy of 1,000, maybe 960 or so I can't remember exactly. I know there are some areas over near Agor Lane and Austin Rd. on the opposite side that are up pretty high too, not sure if they hit 1,000 though. Edit: Just looked and found an 1128 feet on weather.gov's topo map by Lake Ossi off Barrett Hill Rd. (over by Austin Rd. school) Wonder if that's the highest...
  13. Important to remember the storm's impacts up here aren't even in the range of the NAM yet, and think of how much back and forth the models do just inside the NAM range...so people that were writing this off as solely E LI/SNE for major impacts, we have a long way to go and things can change drastically. Same goes for that latest EURO run.
  14. Haha, yep pretty much. I agree that this weather is definitely comfortable, it's just pushing back my fishing season.
  15. It's pretty crazy the lack of actual fall temps we've had to date. Seems like almost every day (with a few exceptions) has been at least near or above 70 without relent. I do quite a bit of fishing and the water temps in the local reservoirs are crazy high for this time of year...there is still zero chill to the touch of any kind when dipping your hand in the water at this point. Going to push a lot of the usual fall fishing back several weeks, until the water actually starts to cool down some.
  16. GFS sim radar much wetter than NAM for tomorrow morning. Hopefully the NAM is right...trying to golf in the AM.
  17. Please don't...I have all day golfing, fishing, and drinking planned. I find it very strange someone would root for a cold, windy, rainy weekend day in May in New York lol.
  18. 18z NAM just moved well south with Sunday' rain.... 12z had over a half inch here and .75 to an inch around the city. 18z only gets 0.5" to Central NJ with the 1" all the way down by ACY
  19. Just seeing this now, don't think you tagged me right Sorry, I still do it the old fashioned way, it's the only way I can justify the 3 (8...) beers later on...
  20. Yep 8-12 sounds about right...too far east I think to get the 12+ totals. What is considered the overflow res? Is that East Branch/sodam? Or diverting off 202?
