The bite isn't as strong after mid August even when it does get hot. Can't beat a weakening sun angle

Although I'm confident the next tropical system will be booted OTS due to extensive western Atlantic troughing, you can't deny the trends of stronger Atlantic ridging that allowed Debby to stay well west of us. If the system takes longer to develop and Atlantic ridging trends stronger then the threat will increase markedly.

Pretty underwhelming but we've had plenty of rain past few days, completely eliminating any dry worries.

There's a chance Debby could be stronger in its Carolinas landfall

It's not dry air, it's the broad circulation. No models had it being much more than a Cat 1. Not every hurricane is going to blow past intensity forecasts.

And this is the driest model

Last 3 days delivered rains here. GFS seems out to lunch with Debby, most models bring it up the coast

That doesn't mean we won't get heavy rains here. CMC/GFS still shows heavy amounts east Then you have Icon to the east

Yesterday a lot of places picked up nearly an inch or more. Now we're getting tropical influences too. Ensembles are extremely wet for 1st half of August. It's going to rain a lot.

This is why flooding is so rampant. Just wait til the tropics get involved

Not really, every summer will be like this and hotter from now on. This will be considered a cool summer a decade from now.

The dry spell will end in a hurry.

As long as it doesn't get stuck down south this could deliver some serious tropical rains up here Ensembles are very wet for us

When did it leave? Models have low to mid 90s over the next several days.
-
A precursor to the tropics later?

Whoever still thinks this isn't a top 2-3 hottest summers is fooling themselves. It's probably hottest once you factor the humidity
-
Not much in Somerset. Misses all around. Oh well
