oh you might be right! I'm likely confusing comments section on capital weather gang back then.

I would guess Feb 2010. It had it's own radio show. They were solid locked in and you didn't have all the arm chair Facebook pages hyping up the storm. This was where 100% of the discussion happened.

It might not. This is so unusual there is a chance the models don't play out at all. There's also a chance we get something wildly unexpected. This might be the event that is a future unicorn "... it looks like Jan 26, remember when x happened? that was unexpected" -

Is that rain or freezing rain, how do you tell the difference without looking at a sounding? -

Thank you! I forgot to close an outside faucet AND leave something dripping. After making sure my mom did it, drove down there and did it for her after they said it was done. -
Alternatively , when was the last time the Euro was correct in these cases? Wasn't it batting pretty badly in November/December this winter?
-
Only one model can be the most correct - and sadly ALL models can be incorrect. In the long run this one might as well be the faith we put everything into using experience, hope, childlike enthusiasm and everything that comes with wishing snow into existence.
-
try clearing your cache - it probably has a generic name and your browser is like "I have this snow map already"
-
What does sleet look like at 20 degrees like I can't imagine it. Does it just instantly crust up the snow on the ground already?
-
Would that be around Thursday's runs?
-
Wait - they have twister fries back according to Facebook. that is a huuuuuuge deal if you were to throw in those.

Second time today. Originally the Government was to "close at 2pm", then without even changing the timestamp it changed to "federal employees are suggested to leave no later than 2pm" I am going to assume a crap ton of overworked HR people answering questions about if those hours are paid or not.
-
OPM already "called it" at "Status: Open - Suggesting 2 Hour Delayed Arrival - With Option for Unscheduled Leave or Unscheduled Telework. Given critical work being done across the federal government, please consult with your agency for final guidance." Since WTOP and others don't have this, I am not even sure OPM knows HOW to close the government at this point.

Haymarket. Moderate flurries raging. Deck caved instantly.

Usually my blacktop drive way in Haymarket warms enough to loosen the last little bits of ice when shoveled. It stayed cold enough when I moved the car that was in the driveway whatever falling snow (from the car) touched the driveway that hadn't been exposed "to the sun" froze instantly to the newly vacated spot.

It always trends north then? -
I just checked out St. Armand’s Circle - all the first floor stuff got three feet of waves last hurricane. These are places I have been going to for two decades and I doubt they open again after this storm

I just realized the lawn crew fertilized our yard last week. By Monday this will be a jungle. -
Got the dimming of the lights about ten minutes ago in Haymarket.
-
Coming home in Haymarket about twenty minutes ago I already saw cloud to ground lightning in the direction of Warrenton. The thunder has been audible now for about ten minutes.

No we are rebounding from the worse year in recorded history with "not the worse year again". Only up from here.
