  6. Because there are still a significant amount that can't telework. And when you and your office mates live in a 60 mile circle from work (say Winchester, Maryland, Culpeper, Fredericksburg) you realize just how important OPM is to keeping people off the roads. Thousands.

  12. https://www.cnn.com/2023/10/20/weather/northeast-wet-dreary-weekend-forecast/index.html I remember sometime between 09/10 and probably 2020/2021, there were people here looking into the question “why does it seem to snow more on weekends in NoVa than it statistically seems it should be?” Did anyone actually find anything legit to this theory?
  13. What side of Haymarket? It was basically sunny down here near the end of 15 when it rolled through for 10 minutes then moved on. It's the first rain in many many days, everything always misses us just slightly north (like 66/15)
  14. I have no dog in this fight, but you can't use the site (and just the homepage at that) to defend the same site you are trying to defend. I am an expert, ask me. -> they aren't garbage, ask them. same difference.
  15. I used to use iweathernet.com to get estimated rainfall over the last 72 hours, but lately you can't zoom into street level and the maximum zoom is useless now. Where can I get the same info?
  16. For those of you who hate winter storm naming, sitting at CES in “leveraging technology for social an impact” an IBM vp talking about their weather market space just named dropped winter storm Elliot. she is very much pushing ibm empowers all weather knowledge in America now. Randi Stipes is the Chief Marketing Officer of IBM Watson Media and Weather Ah. Now it makes sense. Weather and media may or may not be an interchangeable thing to ibm depending on phrasing. (The microwave programming joke from 30 Rock in real life)
  17. Federal Government 2 hour delay. App didn't send notification for some reason.
  18. The language and way it came across was very confusing THEN the link to explain the code orange (they just said code orange, not what it meant) 404'd. IT was very annoying.
  19. Prince William WOULD have delayed , but closed: The weather forecast for Thursday would typically call for a two-hour delay, but due to double bus runs and staffing shortages, as well as uncertainty in temperatures that may cause icy conditions in parts of the county, we are unable to operate safely on a delay.
  20. You guys have a weird idea of what pleasant is if you think this has been pleasant.
