Our beautiful near autumnal Labor Day weekend continues with lows in the 50's and highs in the mid to upper 70's through Tuesday. We warm slightly above normal on Wednesday before trending cooler again to close out the work week. Our next chances of rain looks to be on Thursday with the passage of a cold front.

Somehow managed measurable precip every day this month so far and up to .85 total. Nice flip from August.

Just doing August numbers got me thinking about when @nw baltimore wxasked several years ago how many years I had with no +90 days in August, so I went and pulled it up from the August 2020 thread- "OK, years without a 90 or greater in August...2017, high 89.3 18th. 2014, high 88.2 29th. 2013, high 87.7 10th. 2012, high 89.7 10th. 2008, high 89.5 on 5th and 21st. 1982, high 89 on 4th. and this year, so 7 years total. LOTS of years with only one or two 90+ days including 1984, 1986, 1989, 1992, 1997, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2009, 2016. Hottest I have recorded is 102 degrees on July 17th 1988 and Aug 1st 1999, 101's on Aug 20 and 21 1983, June 30th and July 9th 2012 and Aug 17 and 18 2007." So, we can add this year with the 87.4 on the 15th, 88.2 for the 22nd in 2023 and 88.9 for the 10th of 2022. That makes 10 years out of 46 now. Weird how majority are after 2008, and they seem 'clustered'.

I'm here in Cambridge (Assembly Row) for the weekend, and it feels like fall (cool and crisp). High might not even reach 70 today. The high at Logan Airport might be barely over 70.

IN / out of the clouds for a period this morning into early pm then partly sunnay mid 70s to 80 in the warmest locations, eastern sections could see isolated showers around the ULL into Northern ME and and the N-NE flow. Labor day looking mostly sunny mid - upper 70s to 80 or low 80s in the warmest spots inland. Ridge has a 48 hour surge pushing higher heights and 850 MB temps >18c Tue - Thu with Wed and Thu the warmest of the next 7 days and also next shot at some rain Thursday . Overall near to warmer than normal to mid month and warmer beyond there as ridge looks to come east and we'll have to see where it anchors. 9/6 - 9/8 : Near normal 9/9 - 9/11 : Above normal brief surge of warmth 9/12 - 9/15 : Near normal 9/16 - beyond : Above normal (watch ridge position)

Warmest temp was 87.4 degrees on the 15th. Averaged low temp was 61.9 degrees vs a normal of 60.4 degrees, a +1.5 degrees above average. Coolest temp recorded was 48.8 degrees on the 25th. Overall averaged temp was 72.5 degrees vs a normal of 71.6 degrees, a +0.9 degrees above average. Total rainfall for month was 5.29 inches vs a normal of 3.32 inches, a +1.97 inches above average. Wettest day was the 15th with 1.54 inches. There were 13 days with measurable, 4 days with a 'T' and 14 dry days. Highest wind recorded for the month was 53 mph on the 17th, with only 7 days with a speed above 25 mph. No new records for the month. Overall, a wetter than average one with slightly above normal temps with a couple big thunderstorms thrown in.
