Good song for the coming week. Never heard of this guy before today. It's a good song if you enjoy folkish stuff. I guess he's local going to be at the beachcomber next week. 75 and sunny!

Got 0.4 with that nice shower which is a deluge for these arid parts. Not much lighting and just a little wind. Looking forward to lower temps for a few days

I started keeping a weather journal in Sept 2002. I was surprised looking back at it, how many days there was snow in October. It seems those massive Winters hit early, consistently, and end late. My last snowfall in 03 was in early May, and it snowed over 100" that Winter. The odds of a major one is probably 5:1 less this Winter, while closer to average doesn't have as bad odds.. so yeah, October might come in a little warm (The PDO's top correlation month of the year is Oct).

CAM's had a broken line pushing offshore S coastal zones tonight, we'll see if they bang 9-11pm

That’s going to be upper echelon in terms of size of maximum winds. Anyone know if there are records for eye sizes of majors? I know Wilma in Florida had a huge one and Ike as well. -
I would say no.

She’s 10 and a half now and getting old. Can’t do what she used to… but dammit I know that dog has had as good a life as they come. So many hours spent off-leash wandering around this area and the mountains. I’d be curious if any other dog has spent more time on Mount Mansfield and Spruce Peak over the past decade, ha.

Sounds perfect. Bring the record low dew points into September.

The GFS is totally on an island. I could not find even 1 of its own ensembles that even comes close to that solution much less any of the operational runs from any of the other models. -
Finally got some rain here, quick 10 minute downpour but it's something.

Been up at the cabin all weekend. Been perfect weather up here. Some storms came through a few hours ago and now it's cooled off and definitely feels like fall. I see on the radar some big storms coming through home back in Calvert. Need the rain there. I've noticed up here on the mountain since this spring that all the foliage has these tears in it that don't look like insect damage. I wonder if there was hail this spring that damaged the leaves when they were still young? It's on all the trees all over so it doesn't seem specific to any one type of tree. Has made the trees look ratty all summer. Looking forward to figuring up the wood stove soon. Did homemade pizza in the AGA oven that was very good.
