  1. Past hour
  2. The flood watches east of the city probably could've been taken down yesterday AM although maybe Upton kept them up because of uncertainty with the surface low's evolution. But it was 100% obvious starting 48hrs out that the heaviest rain would be west of the city. The expectation was widespread 2-3" from what I saw which I think only happened in some parts of Suffolk. Nassau and most of the city had 1" or less. I had maybe 1.7". Maybe someone had a flood warning in Suffolk but I was asleep. I wasn't optimistic since a lot of the models went to straight dry slot here but was a little pleasantly surprised.
  3. Amazing ! I can see the discrepancy even locally - northern Augusta County toward Harrisonburg is so green and lush, towering fields of corn- south toward Stuarts Draft the same... In between well - brown grass thats crunchy now... Highest event for the month was 0.44 ..
  4. The reason why I got a wood stove back 20 years ago or so.
  5. Premature hook of their Cy Young winning ace with a 6 run lead after completely drubbing the Os yesterday fueled the comeback win. This one game could propel the Orioles, sink the Tigers, and result in Skubal being traded at the deadline. Think about that.
  6. 91 yesterday, same today. Hopefully that rain materializes tomorrow night into Friday. We need it badly.
  7. Look at that CTRV rain train regenerate . Gonna be a wild night in much of the valley
  8. From what the media and weather outlets forecasted this was overhyped for many on LI. A few hours of heavy rain overnight when they all made it seem like a multiple day all day event
  9. EN influence definitely did its job keeping Bertha a sheared TS last week. Although the convective displacement to the south of the center was unusual, as it's usually always on the eastern/northern quadrants with southerly/westerly UL shear. The only other time I remember the majority of rain/storms being on southern quadrant was TS Don in 2011. Which the overall pattern that year was really off key in the state.
  10. Instability showers today under the upper low.
  11. With temps in the low 60s and windy conditions, it felt like fall in Western MD except for all the green trees. Muddy Creek Falls
  12. I would never eat fish from mc Donald's but I did get a rat burger though
  13. Another good day for my general area, but man my house is rain repellant. Flash floods to my west, heavy rain to my north and east, and heavy rain to my southwest headed my way, but drying up 2 miles down the road.
  14. Of course that rain band went to crap when I got to orange but maybe something coming up.. @weatherwiz would be proud..
  15. Little cell over rockland earlier put me over 5” for the storm total.
  16. Interesting how banding set up in The Hudson and ct valleys. Almost like it didn't care about topography.
  17. Nice little downpour in west babylon
