Occasional Thoughts on Climate Change
Typhoon Tip replied to donsutherland1's topic in Climate Change
Not gonna beat the dead horse again, but as I posted several times, it’s just the biological pathology of evolution that we are slaved to physical senses; we don’t believe it until it hurts, by the time climate change hurts … it will be too late; so that’s why we’re doomed I could’ve written the book he wrote I’m sure -
these early to mid october beach days turn out to be gems as long as there is full sun which it looks like there will be. No crowds and its like a little secret bonus...had one last year and the previous year and i think 3 years ago too for beach lovers and sun worshippers its not about 90 degree and trying to beat the heat...its all about getting one extra day..if you arent a beach bum you just do not understand and you are free to roast yourself apple picking or getting dehydrated in some corn maze at 85 degrees doing your fall activities
-
Water's also still in the 68-72 degree range. Plenty warm for a swim/surf
-
i see upper 70s for asbury park and for belmar on the weather channel ..do you want me to screen shot...ditto for weatherunderground. its likely temps will overperform just as they have each day this 2 day coolshot was first spotted.

How did you do on 9? The Sharp dog leg right. That hole is a bear.

I love New England CC especially in the fall. Not easy.
-
with that northeast wind blowing you don't want to be on the beach.
-
Cooled off at the soccer fields once the sun dipped behind the tree line. 56 now, going down to the low 40s tonight.
-
1st “round” of golf in over a year. Office scramble at New England cc. Wish I could have played more this year but was not in the budget. Sucked bad. Enjoyed the day though.
-
High clouds kept temps in check today here, with only 84.
-
Belmars highs are 72 this weekend. Not a beach day.

LB, I think that TS4 was about a 60 mph storm when it made landfall. The rainfall you asked about (8.28") is the daily record for September (second place being 7.13" Sep 1, 2021) and is also the all-time daily record for any month, but the all-time monthly record at Central Park (despite what it said in the source) is August 2011 with 18.95" -- Oct 2005 had 16.73" April 1983 14.01" and Oct 1903 had 13.31" ... these are the largest daily totals ... 1.
